Coronavirus

I have 2 close contacts (pardon the pun) to the info.
98% they are on the money.

Have let me down a couple of times.

And now if you can believe it, we’ve just been notified only minutes ago, that another person at my partners work who was in the office the same time as my partner, has also been reported as being in the high risk area at the MCC on Saturday as well.

We now have to continue to wait for their results as well and stay quarantined at home. We didn’t even go 5 minutes before receiving concerning news again.

One of my work colleagues has been identified as tier 1 (Maribyrnong Leisure Centre). If she tests positive, we probably all will as she has been at work all week and the mask rules were lifted last Friday. fingers crossed, but its just another reason to be thankful I am fully vaccinated.

We should build a wall. All the outbreaks in VIC have been Northern suburbs

especially Craigieburn.

Hearing the State Government is preparing for a 5 day hard lockdown announcement in the next couple of days or so.

My DHHS contact says there is unlikely to be a lockdown announcement today

Like I said, I agree the removals (with the info we have), have behaved dreadfully and illegally.

and im not playing a perverse game of State of Origin here,

But I rate the Melbourne holiday makers during lockdown worse.

In that, they snuck out of lockdown, unknowingly Covid infected, to go on holiday, and crossed 2 borders illegally. whereas the Removalists got the required permit to do permitable activities, unknowingly Covid affected, crossed 1 border legally, broke the rules, and seem unrepentant (we need to be careful of trial by media, obviously; its come out that the Limo driver who originated this latest Sydney lockdown, contrary to all media reports, WAS wearing a mask and was diligently Covid safe, other than being vaccinated. And I think the fact he wasn't vaccinated was probably out of his control.).

FWIW, If I was a judge, I'd throw the book at the removalists and id throw 2 books at the holiday makers.

can you imagine if they called for victim impact statements when putting these people (note to self; always examine your POV forensically when you say or write the phrase 'these people') before the court? It would break the internet.
I thought the Melbourne couple were actually moving to Queensland; not going on holidays? Again not that it excuses their actions.

maybe they were Marie Kondo disciples and their only belongings were a surf matt, an esky and 2 Piña colada glasses?

or maybe they were moving to Queensland for 2 weeks, then moving back to Melbourne?

I dunno?

So a senior executive at my work was at the footy with his son. His son not feeling well this morning.

Exec was at work yesterday but mainly in office by himself.

I was in same building.

Let’s see what happens but I’m expecting 1-2 week lockdown. There must be hundreds of these types of stories.

Just got my second Pfizer on Tuesday. Tired and mild chills yesterday but pretty good today.

I figure that will be dependant upon the number of cases, the number of exposure sites and whether the new cases were already isolating.

The removalists may have had a permit to come to Victoria but they flouted the rules and need to be made responsible for their actions. At least they had a permit.

What really p1sses me off is the person who came to Victoria from a red zone, was required to quarantine, and promptly went to the supermarket. FFS do they not understand what quarantine and isolation mean? Do they not know the purpose of this? Have they not heard of online shopping?

Got to remember that there are going to be thousands of close contacts tested today. Non of the teachers or students from Bacchus and Barwon getting tested until today

Just for a little light relief for this thread,

i invented a new game today.

its called 'covid stupid faces'

1 player, 1 face mask, sunnies optional.

aim of the game: to pull the stupidest face you can, in the least appropriate situation, undetected.

i just pulled off tongue fully extended into bared vampire teeth,

while paying my car rego.

note: this game is designed for all ages. If you wish to play in the lingerie dept, or on a construction site, you must play the 18+ version.

Worth noting that apparently all those who came into contact with the removalists who did wear masks did not get covid and those who didn't wear masks did get it.
