As I have said before, the major thing that gets overlooked & brushed off with the Vic Hotel Quarantine breach, is that weeks after it occurred the WHO & other notable health organisations declared the virus airborne. That was a significant change to what was considered previous. We were still learning about how contagious the virus was. Even now after all they've learned since, we still have a hotel quarantine outbreak in South Australia.I never said they weren’t, and Andrews has never hidden from this. But so many people out there are blaming 100% of the second wave on one single person, which is ridiculous and unfair. But I disagree it was poorly planned. How can you plan something that was handballed to you at the last minute (by a federal government shirking its own responsibility), in the limited amount of time they had to make decisions? There are so many layers to this. And what is happening in SA just proves how hard it is to deal with.
A lot of people have used the argument that the army instead of private security guards would have made the difference but that's just speculation more than any hard proof. Clearly it is very hard to prevent transmission of this virus.
