Coronavirus

Im surprised nobody has suggested a big splog of long lasting dye on the head of non-isolaters? The kind banks use on stolen cash and catches robbers red-handed?

Surely then you wouldnt show your face for a while?

They'd just wear a mask..
Selfish idiots will always find a loophole.

Yeah, we really need some good contact tracing and it would be nice to get some info on where the cases are happening even if we can't get contact tracing info. Are they happening in certain suburbs, in certain types of workplace, in aged care facilities? Would be good to know.

DS

They already do provide this data. Its why I use this website. Way more detail around cases than just the high level numbers given on most websites.

Yeah, not a bad website but the number of unknowns in the source of infection means we still don't have all the detail.

Anyway, after today, here's where we are:

And, as a graph:

That is not a nice curve.

Noticed less cars on the roads today and less people walking around at the beach. But the local shopping street is still quite busy, everyone wearing masks though. I went to the supermarket just to grab a few things and people still ambling about. I just get in and get out. I suppose if they are ding a large shop for a week or two it is ok.

Mikakos refusing to answer questions or surrender documents. Surprise, surprise.

Toothless tiger of an inquiry.
Seriously? The Government call an enquiry and then refuse to hand over documents. Hard to see how Mikakos can survive/ PRE's own resident doc Joe G should be able to provide some insight.

I am no Mikakos fan but this is not correct

She was asked a series of questions in parliament which she didn't answer on time but they were submitted 5 hours late. In those answers she wouldn't answer questions about Hotel Quarantine because she said that detail had been provided to the inquiry, which is true.

The LNP were playing politics but asking those questions. All it would have done was have some people at DHHS spending the day preparing the answers rather than doing what they should have been doing.

Don't take that as a defence of her from me because personally I believe she is a very weak Health Minister.

Mikakos and her staff have had time to compile information for this inquiry. I doubt she then had DHHS staff scurrying around yesterday afternoon, she was just trying to avoid giving answers ie playing politics.

Also, Justice Coate came out and said yesterday that the inquiry in no way prohibits anyone from answering questions outside the inquiry itself. Andrews and his sycophants have been bullshitting us all along. They know how damning the evidence of the hotel quarantine *smile* up is and they are trying to avoid it by whatever means possible.

More important to be paying $650 million per year (2018) and keep the unions happy down at the desal plant and of course we obviously needed the pipeline from the Goulburn to Sugarloaf which allegedly won't work, for $1Billion to guarantee the water supply. Let's not worry about the $1.1 Billion to cancel a tunnel project.

To have a half decent government you need an equivalent opposition. .. Sadly, I think we're rooted!

What she didn’t provide was information for parliamentary questions not for the inquiry. The information for the inquiry has been supplied

The best person they had by far was John Pesutto who took Ted baillieus seat and lost it at the last election. He is far and away the best person to lead the LNP In Victoria imo. Classic “small l” liberal.
They need someone to stamp down on idiots like Smith who does far more harm than good with his childish barbs.

You're spot on Sin. Pesutto is a very good operator and a small l liberal. He would be a perfect choice to lead them and it's a real shame he lost his seat at the 2018 landslide election. I heard him on ABC radio last week and he was very reasonable.

Hopefully they can get him back in at the next election. It's a much better state of affairs when both parties have decent leaders. A very rare occurrence these days I know.

Agreed, John Pesuto was definitely one of their better candidates.

The grace that he showed when it was revealed live on-air that he had lost his seat was very impressive, and showed he is all about the community rather than personal ambition.

Tim Smith is an insuferable Gobshite.
