Connors

The most encouraging thing was that Connors looked lively and looked threatening all day..

This is exactly what we have been lacking. I thought he brought some real energy to the forward line and offers something that King and Nahas can't and that is a contest in the air..

Sure he kicked a couple of goals from point blank range but so what? He was busy all day and found himself in the right spot, good on him..

Hope he kicks on now..

Hopefully the penny has dropped this time. He's go too much talent to p!ss it against the wall.

I want Push Up to give Adelaide a nasty reminder of what they did last year.

Tried hard did well BUT its GWS and only 1 game. Hope he keeps it up.

For a bloke who a lot of people had virtually written off, it was a pretty decent return. Took some nice marks, yeah got some easy goals from the goalsquare, but also kicked a steadying goal to ice the game the game.

Good on him, hope he can back it up as he will be a bonus that wasn't in the picture a couple of months ago.

Quite true. If nothing else, if he keeps going he will be an attractive tradeable player come draft time.

But I hope he stays a Tiger. Reckon he can get over his issues and offer us something rather than another team.

I'd written him off so anything he brings to the team is a bonus. But with Connors it's like pro-cycling, always waiting for the next scandal to hit the news.

Let's see how he fares after a few weeks.....has an awful lot of baggage. Lets see how he travels and backs up in a few weeks time

Nice. ;D

Have to agree. Connors has always shown flashes of talent and did again today but if some aren't getting carried away with a few goals against a cellar dwellar it's understandable.
He's coming from a long way back and has a lot to prove.

Must say I've never seen him look so lean, fit and light on his feet.

I wish him all the best. Those "1 percenters that everybody raves on about" could save his career. I hope he makes it. He's about to turn 24 - maybe the penny has finally dropped.

still a bludger and a lair but he's not soft and got the job done today.

Did he bludge today? He chased and harrassed and laid at least 1 very good block today.

He may be a lair. Stevie J won a Norm Smith.

It's a low benchmark, but I'd rather Connors than Bling on my list. Actually it's a very low benchmark.

it was interesting to hear Hardwick say he had to get the respect of the players back,

And then Connors himself say he had to get their respect back ,

Im missing something , I know he has been a *smile* off field ...... well Ive heard he has without knowing details

How bad has it been ? Is it all alcohol related , Or is there footy stuff as well he has stuffed up with ?

12 disposals yesterday

33% effectiveness (ie 4 disposals, including the 3 goals)

5 clangers

Although he is very one sided, he could play a similar role to Stevie J up forward. He has good ball winning ability, can mark overhead, some tricks, difficult match up. The point of difference that makes Stevie J great is what he does with the ball - makes the right decisions and hits targets - this is the area of Dan's game that needs a lot of work.
If you removed the clangers from yesterday's game he would have had an outstanding game.

It will be interesting to see if he gets any coaches votes.

The club's just tweeted that he has stayed at home and not gone to Arizona as he has some personal issues to deal with and that he will resume training with the club in due course.

Who is The General ?

I heard an interview with Craig Cameron in Trade week and he said that Connors had said that if a trade could be done he wouldn't object but that he was happy to stay otherwise. Cameron said in the interview that if there was no trade done then Dan would be a Richmond player in 2012.

Something may have changed after that, who knows?

Ask him yourself. He seemed to have all the facts at hand.

Can anyone confirm the trade story with anything more substantial than " I heard"
