Compo picks

I know how it works, not disputing that.

All I am saying is there is a lot of projection going on. For a guy as young as Scully, anything could happen.

In my opinion, Ward is the better player, therefore why the Bulldogs got less compensation is stupidity in the system. The fact Scully got the same as Ablett is laughable.

One is nearly the best midfield to ever play the game. The other at this point of time has played a handful of reasonable games but has been injury prone with a rumoured debilitating knee injury.

The mind boggles. Based on contract? Wow that's novel AFL. Morons.

Whatever Adolf says, goes!!

Based purely on what we know, Ward is a more valuable player in terms of output right now. Forget where they were drafted, that's just your ticket in to the big dance.
Tom Scully in 2011 has a knee injury that restricted him to twelve games and restricted output for his club.
I'm actually astounded that GWS would sign someone for 6 years on that basis. Two first rounders for him is OTT IMO. Agree with bob, it's ridiculous.

Melbourne are huge winners IMO. Scully has a similar knee problem to Cooney. He's rooted. It's a shame for him and almost as big a disappointment that Melbourne won't be the ones to suffer, but at least GWSuper will.

Don't be suprised if we don;t have one in a few weeks.

Ok so are we looking at Maric and Danderfield/Gunston? or is your mail someone else from Adelaide?

Jackson + plus our compo pick for Maric and Dangerfield would be great for us.

The picks for Scully are more for the fact that they lost a no. 1 pick after only 2 years, not on his performance. Fair enough IMHO.

Pathetic as it is, thats pretty much what the compo is based on. Market value of the player in a hyper inflated market place plus the players age/ expected years remaining in the game.
GWS were willing to pay Scully as much as Mold Coast paid for Scablett and he's younger so the compo was always going to be at the top of the range.

Ward's getting paid less and he's a couple of years older so less compo.
Palmers getting paid less again so less compo.

It's bloody insane the amount of money being paid to the ex rugby league players and a bunch of snot nosed kids. But the AFL splashing out the cash and they're desperate to make inroads in the first couple of years.

For all their public moaning and hand wringing I reckon the Dees will be laughing so hard they'll be choking on their weeties. Two first round picks plus salary cap space for a kid with a dodgy knee.

Not Adelaide. Well it could be but i doubt it. I know its not for Maric or Dangerfield or Gunston. The article today neglects the fact we have told them to get stuffed.
