our odds of landing clem smith in the draft has just risen

plenty of water still to gather under the fridge, but what numbers young clem touted to go?

No we wouldn't,their will be quite a few taken before him, their are quite a few decent small forward/mid types this year.

He was spoken about as a potential number 1 pick after his champs performances last year IIRC. I do admittedly prefer Pickett though... Wins his own ball

kennedy Harris and Impey are both solid in their first few games. The fact their regulars so far in their first years is impressive enough. I'd be interested to know if Port place a premium on pace and class, they have tended to go for small pacy indigenous players with early picks, or at least more than usual. And it seems to be working out OK

If you are referring to Wingard and Impey both IMO were picked as best available. Wingard was always viewed as a top 3 pick until GWS showed a lack of interest and Impey was always seen as a early second rounder and that's exactly where he went.

A quick browse through Prospectus 2014 indicates:

Liam Griffiths, NSW/ACT Rams, 182cm, outside midfielder, elite runner

Isaac Heeney, NSW/ACT Rams, 184cm, inside midfielder, elite endurance

Jarrod Pickett, South Fremantle, 177cm, outside midfielder / forward

Lachlan Weller, Broadbeach, 178cm, inside midfielder

I'm sure there are other pacy midfielders located in Victoria.
Must have a look!

Anything in the prospectus on Darcy Parish from the Falcons Phanto? Bottom age but been impressive in the first few rounds.

No, but they only listed their Top-25 U18yo fancies.

Is Darcy any relation to Fitzroy's Les Parish?

Not to my knowledge, he's been AA last two years, had 30 odd touches two games ago. Got three brothers who will be good also next oldest is in the Falcons u/15 team

Also, always good to refer to the U16 Champs from a couple of years before.

Phantom, do you know what date they usually chose the u/16s squad? I know a few kids in contention this season, interested to see who gets in.

One suspects that the initial squads would have been picked and be training by now.
Since the U16 champs are not until July, the final squads would not be named until closer to that time.

I know this doesn't relate to your question, but here is the AFL-AIS U18 squad that was announced last August.

They were still playing metro carnival as of this week, so i guess they will pick it in the next few weeks.

Jarrod Pickett.

Yeah, he sounds exactly the type we need.

It's quite amusing, we actually need a draft full of outside types with pace. The exact type that we as a collective hated Terry Wallace drafting.

Would be curious to see what Danny Meyer would do if he was picked in 2014 as a 18 year old. Just reckon it turns out differently.

Or an 18 year old Tambling playing purely as an outside midfielder. If recruited this year instead of 2004 I think his career might have turned out differently.
