Garlett from WA (there's always one) has put in some good performances recently. Been just as good as Pickett IMO. If we end up with a high pick we'd be better off going for Brayshaw or Petracca and Garlett with a later pick than Pickett early.

I agree, Stylo. Garlett's last two games have been brilliant. Pickett was quiet at Geelong and in the first half yesterday, before a solid second half. Maybe West Coast has told him to lie down?

Caleb Daniel gotta be tempting for us. Pure rover. Quick, desperate, loves a goal, superior decision making. Sub 170cm. Lewis Taylor 2 all over this bloke.

jesus TTT, we're a footy club, not the hong kong jockeys club.

He is verrrrry small. But his champs performances have been super. Not at pick 7, but 2nd round sure.

Im not experienced or knowledgable enough to put his performance in context, comparisons and that. But geez he was good. And as I said I read he was just as good in the next game. Grabbed every situation, and the game, by the scruff of the neck. Real force of nature -type. Long 45 set shots, miracle snaps, clean outside run, boring -in insanity, I was wowed.

Callum toomey has jarred pickett going at 9 at this early stage. so thats realistic for us. He played against men in the wafl on the weekend and got the ball 19 times (and maybe kicked a couple?).

I think it's Pickett or Ahern. Unless Bradshaw slides. But I see Lachie Weller as the standard FJ prototype that we will take.

Wouldn't be too upset by this if we nab him with our pick!

Weller intrigues me. I haven't seen much of him, what's his pace like?

Weller is a favorite of mine and would not be disappointed at all if we took him over Pickett. Weller just has something about him that I think suggests he will be a quality player at AFL level.

If we can't trade our first pick for WHE I am leaning towards Weller as our first pick.

hell go to suns. queensland only produce about 2 players a year, and hes a good one. they'll have no choice.

never know mate, not if we pick him first ;)

Weller has been apart of the Gold Coast academy, so no surprise that the Suns would be all over him.

However Gold Coast can't take him as an academy selection as he hasn't lived in QLD for long enough to be eligible.

Wouldn't be past them to take him with Pick 10 or likely Pick 14/15

Correct, I have him going in the 10-20 range so I think he will be on the board when the Suns have their first pick.
