Changes

95% disposal efficiency
Would take Ross over Graham atm. Our midfield has looked better and quicker across the ground without Graham. Can't have Hopper, Taranto, Martin, Graham, Cotchin, Prestia and Ross in the same lineup. One of those must come out as it is too slow. For mine Ross deserves a call up for reward. No way Graham should get rushed straight back in but alas it is what will happen. No coincidence Short's dash made us better across the ground. Need more of that than concrete boots Graham types.

You can stream the VFL game if you haven't seen it. Dow does have a very good sidestep, but Ross did plenty of that himself. HE is an improved and refined player, got in the best in his last senior game, but people just don't wan to see it for some reason
Watched the VFL game on
line. Ross played a beauty against good opposition. Not saying he is lost. Just that
Dow better deserves an opportunity at this point.

Out - Ralphsmith, MRJ, Mansell

In - Broad, Ross, Sonsie

Cotchin to sub.

No chance Vlastuin is dropped, he has unfortunately been making a few errors but he consistently puts himself in the right spots and is a vital cog of our backline. It will come, have faith.

Would like to see Bauer given a go but not sure how it works with our current structure given he's been playing down back. Perhaps Grimes is rested at some stage given the run of short breaks coming up?

Hoping Biggy gets up for this weekend, in the VFL, and keeps doing well in the ruck.

Think he is around 2m, and has a great leap, skills and speed. Would give us a real point of difference.

we will need Miller, as many have suggested leave Balta in the backline, Ryan needs support. MRJ & Ralphsmith (injured & needs more time in reserves), toss up between Mansell & Judd, for Broad, Sonsie (if fit) and Ross (must play Ross a head of Ralphsmith, Judd, Mansell). Against melbourne, they had the best ruck combination in terms of marking and physical. Hence Miller, if Balta is to go to Ruck, then Miller in the backline
I have been pumping Millers tyres for a number of years but not sure he has the mindset for AFL. I am still hoping he will but even in the Demons match he let himself down a number of time. My view is back to VFL and get the aggression and confidence installed. From the RFC site it sounds like Soldo will be back so that solves the Miller scenario for now.

If he does he can replace Miller against the Weagles

Richmond confirmed on Wednesday it will lose Rioli for the “short term” with a minor hamstring strain, offsetting the positive news of Nathan Broad’s return from suspension and the possible inclusion of Ivan Soldo, who will be assessed in his recovery from plantar fasciitis.

Soldo and Broad would be highly valuable additions for the Tigers, with developing talls Tylar Young, Samson Ryan and Ben Miller shouldering a heavy burden in defence and in the ruck in previous weeks.

Half-forward Jack Graham is again unavailable for Richmond’s clash against Gold Coast as he recovers from a hamstring injury, while young defender Josh Gibcus is working his way back and is also listed as a “short term” out.

In..................players who can run out a strong 4 quarters.

Maybe Miller and and Bauer in. I like Miller but Bauer is in good form and can also be a swing man.

My team- Ins; Baurer, Broad, Ross, Soldo and Sonsie
Outs; Prestia ( managed) Mansell (sub) Young, MJ and Hugo.
Baker to play hhf, Dusty more time on ball.

I'm happy to concede Vlastuin's intercept game has been a little off this season, but his disposal efficiency is the elite of the elite. Most reliable field kick in the team.

yeah, feel he's getting some overly harsh ratings on here. The backline works as a tight tight unit and that slight lack of cohesion makes them look worse than they are, missing Gibcus, Tarrant and Broad doesn't help either.

Unfortunately with MRJ going down i think the MC will keep Mansell in. No one else to provide any pressure or speed forward half. I'd rather he is in the 2s to be honest but would accept him as sub.
Cotch and Prestia should be managed. Sonsie(Dow) and Ross to come in.
Need to find a way to keep Young in the team. I'd drop Grimes before Young on current form.
Soldo to replace Miller but he will make us slower around the ground.
Broad for Ralphsmith

Just want MC of 2017-2020 making the calls not the MC of the last few years.

I agree generally but…..
Mansell had 1 tackle and 10 pressure acts.
Dusty had 3 tackles and 21 PA
Cumbo had 3 tackles and 15 PA.

The Mansell pressure stats should be off the charts if that is his role?

Yes but no need. The obvious F Ups stood out. I was a little shocked by the K E

His role is different when there are players out, he has to mind forwards more. When we have a full back line Vlastuin can roam a bit and intercept. I think this has a big impact on his game as he has to play a different role.

With Broad back I reckon we will see Vlastuin freed up to do more intercepting which is his strength.

Dropping Vlastuin would be insanity.
