Changes vs Sydney Swans

Ryan out, I reckon he should actually get a rest. It would be a rugged season for a young tall, give him a break, get him a game or two in the VFL to get some confidence then back in the side for experience.

Reckon Ross is stiff, yes he has a lot to do to prove he is AFL level, but was certainly no worse than others last week. Either he is the sub, should be, or in the VFL to work on some things.

Will be good to see how Banks and Bauer go, hope they have great games.

MJ is confusing, he needs to do more than pressure, he needs to attack as well. Oh well, he must be doing something right, but clearly a long way to go.

Macintosh? Don’t think so. Poor last week - yes. But has been very solid in our wins prior to that.
Macca had a few weeks where he was ok but generally outside that period he has had a poor season.
On the edge imo
We now have 5 that are all relatively young, MRJ, Clarke, Coulthard, Green, and Campbell.
I don’t see Clarke as a small forward, although that is where he has been picked. More of the Lambert forward/mid role. We need to give him that role in the vfl.
Forgot about Green but he hasn’t done a lot yet as well.

The selection of MJR is bizarre. Shows nothing at AFL or VFL level outside of defensive skills plus looks unfit from a distance. I’d have like to have seen considerable offensive improvements at VFL level before being selected at AFL level again.

The MoJu selection makes no sense. He can't get to a contest, let alone find the ball. And when it does fall into his hands, it's a pleasant surprise if he finds a way not to turn it over. He's just so far off the pace of the game at the moment.

Coulthard would be a better option. Hell, Steely Green would be a better option. So would Ross, Cumberland, Brown, Sonsie, Dow.. maybe even Tresize.

We lose games when we carry passengers in the team. Hopefully MoJu proves me wrong.

It’s a sign of the times with the list transition in that we go into games hoping certain players play well rather than knowing they’ll play well.

We hope Miller, Ryan, MRJ, Ralphsmith etc play at the level we think they can reach. More times than not, they don’t and maybe never will. Reminds me of any number of players I’ve seen over the past 40 years. Dan Foley anyone!

Don’t think MRJ is playing for his career. Actually far from it.
Is there anyone on our list with worse disposal skills. The emphasis put on disposal skill by the recruitment staff at the last two national drafts in particular, suggest disposal by foot and hand has never been a more important consideration.
Maurice is very exciting and I hope he has a long career at Punt rd but there are some really significant flaws, which in a mid/forward should be showing some improvement by now.

I reckon Rioli's selection shows we are still in it to win it. While last week was awful all over, even when we were winning we still lacked some pressure up forward.

Just on Clarke, he could also play wing, has the speed but needs that ball-winning ability if he is to succeed in that position.
Needs to also get stronger, and bigger in the body not sure whos running the weights program but in the off-season needs to whack on 6-7 kilos.

Steely Green has had some good games but overall has been so-so. His stats on the below link. Has played predominantly as a small forward, and a few games in the backline.

Average dual premiership player? One you got wrong Scooper.
McIntosh has been a super winger for us.
He's been a loyal servant, a great role player, that I got wrong.

The average comment was based on 2023. Ross is going better in 2023, Ross can give us more in 2023 and going forward. We are playing a winger who doesn't have a contract for next year. I find it very odd.

All good.

Doesn't have a contract yet. Who knows what the club is planning?

Ryan to VFL is the right move for now. You can see the kid is cooked, needs a rest and regain confidence and strength, then come back in.

MJ for pressure is positive. need this when the ball drops & chasing and providing space.

May play at one time 3 talls, Jack, Miller & Jacob to match swans' height.

first time in a while we have Tt, JH, DM, SB, TC & DP all in one team.
