Changes vs Sydney Swans

It is good to see some changes after our most timid performance in years. Ross was unlucky and Miller, Pickett and Graham lucky to stay in. We might shift Bakes back and play Banks off the wing. There needs to a big response in terms of straight lining the ball and applying pressure. There needs to be a response this week if the players want Mini as coach.

Yep and take away rd 1 where I was encouraged by his performance he's averaged 2.8 effective disposals a game and hasn't kicked a goal. It's nonsense.
It’s complete nonsense

Something awfully wrong with team selection this week
We drop a player who had 21 possessions. 9 marks in a team that got flogged and bring in a player who had 9 possessions in the VFL
AMAZING!!

You do realise they play different roles?

I don’t agree with Ross being dropped. It should have been Pickett.

But the MRJ selection has nothing to do with it.

Yep not against this selection. I know playing footy is just more than tackling but we have zero forward half pressure.
Agree SA. Last week was terrible by the whole team and Clarke and Cumberland as forwards were less effective as a result of what was going on around them. However both look solid long term prospects where as Maurice maybe playing for his career.

Sorry, I may have missed it, are you against MRJr playing this week?

The selection of MoJu is just more evidence how the club really needs a genuine small forward.
Coulthard needs some time, Seth Campbell had big wraps pre season but is injured.
There are no other options, which is probably why he has been picked because it’s clearly not on form.
Terrific selections of Banks and Bauer. The retention of others in preference to young players is probably an attempt to balance youth and experience in the team but there are a couple of experienced players on notice I suspect.

I had Ross dropped cos his ball handling was atrocious last week. Maybe it stood out cos, unlike many of his team mates, he actually got the ball, but if he can't pick the ball up under a little pressure he can't play.
That's coming from a "Ross fan" too.

Coulthard wont be far away.

Moju and Coulthard hopefully will be dynamic duo in the forward 50 by seasons end.

Pickett & McIntosh very lucky. Ross shouldn’t be dropped.

Right call on Ryan, non-competitive the last month.

I reckon Ryan has gone back to the VFL cos he can play better than he has been. Miller on the other hand probably can't.
We have seen what Miller can do when he’s on and we have seen him when he’s not. We know his best is good enough and with Ryan out should be the second prong, maybe third with Bauer coming in, in the forward line.

Don’t think MRJ is playing for his career. Actually far from it.

Macintosh? Don’t think so. Poor last week - yes. But has been very solid in our wins prior to that.

Pickett very lucky.

I agree with Ross thought he has played well enough to stay in. Pickett was woeful last week, he is now back to the wing where he has played his best football in the past.

On SEN, Kano had someone from champion data talking about midfielders' disposals and where the ball ends up. Either nowhere or in a scoring chain
Ross is ranked in the bottom 5 for scoring chains. The Saints have 3 of their mids in the bottom 5 in the league which is not good.

We now have 5 that are all relatively young, MRJ, Clarke, Coulthard, Green, and Campbell.

Just on MRJ, he is playing a role that role is pressure and tackling. Last week 7 of our forwards had a combined 3 tackles. Graham 2, Pickett 1, and the others Jack, Ryan, Miller, Cumberland, and Clarke had zero.

The kids took the rapt for that hammering last week lol yet senior blokes didn't puzzling been a theme this season.

Coulthard will easily overtake him
MJ is being gifted a game needs to start being first to the ball, hit targets and kick some goals
