Changes v Skunks

It will be interesting to see if "hamstring awareness" hampers Lynch's mobility around the forward line or restricts any long searching leads on Friday night.
Thought he had a corkie. The awareness was Dusty.

We go into this game against red hot Maggies without Hopper, Dusty, Broad and now Short.
Those who have no time for Short will be pleased of course.
That is 4 of our best players out, so what chance do you give us of even being competitive?
We then have the Doggies, so a bit of a chance there, but follow that up with games against the Dees and Swans.
Not looking that good from where I sit.
Then again, stranger things have happened!!

trust in the system. The players coming in will be picked specifically for a particularly role. Opportunity strikes! Gives the younger players another chance to perform on a big stage, big match.
Need to cover Hopper, Martin & Broad. roles..... we have a number of players to cover Short.
I believe we will dominate in our Forward Line, placing heaps of pressure on them, causing mistakes, free kicks for us and our TRANSITION will be super.
This game will set us up in terms of acknowledging the potential of our young group, our side willingness to work hard as a team against the odds, provides avenues for the future replacement of older players.

Short out, Hopper doubtful.

Annnnnnnnddddd we're stuffed.

Think you can add dusty to the outs.

But Just as it was tiger inevitable we didnt win by 90 pts after a 45 ht lead,

This backs against the wall, undermanned, against the odds clash against a rampaging full strength pies,

Is an inevitable tiger victory.

Its what we do

We should rest Tom Lynch, just to make sure of it

Maybe. Saw lynch grab at his hamstring at the end of the game. He went in for scans, so maybe cookie it is. Let's hope that's the worst of it.
Nevertheless, will be interesting to see how he tracks across the ground.

Vlastuin Balta Rioli

McIntosh Taranto Pickett

Bolton Riewoldt Cotchin

yep, Shorty out really hurts.

Look at it this way, it's a free hit for us now. Pencil in a loss, but will be great to see what character we show.

reckon hopper plays but the other 3 won't.

knees are bone, little to no risk further damage you'd think unlike the other lads.

I don't subscribe to the theory that the scum are red hot or that we are not.

They beat the off the cliff Cats by a few goals and then an all over the place Port by a lot in Melbourne. The Blues beat the cats by a couple of goals. We should have beaten the Blues convincingly but couldn't execute. We then go and beat the Crows on their dung heap by 5 goals.

Yes they are 2 wins and we are 1.5. But our games have had a higher degree of difficulty IMHO

Pickett on N Daicos is the matchup I want. I really dont care if Pickett gets time.
Pickett can hurt running both ways.

You make couple of fair points BT, but we will possibly be missing 4 of our best players.
That is a big hole to fill with kids that are not yet up to the standard of those out of our team.

Have faith mate.

To call on, we have:

- Ross, arguably our best mid in the latter half of last year and one of our best in the final
- Sonsie, who had 17 touches in our first midfield rotation in the final last year and continually showed he was cool under pressure
- Cumberland, who was arguably one of our best forwards in the latter half of last year (albeit didn't perform in the final)
- Clarke, who kicked 2 goals on debut as well as a goal in that fast paced game against the cats last year
- Banks, unseen but who I reckon will be one of those guys who finally makes their debut and never look back and people wonder why he wasn't already in the team.
