Changes V Crows

Take a mydol and relax.
.excuse my passion kevin.
.but why on earth after 2 of the greatest wins in home & away history on the eave of finals, you would contemplate replacing the fastest player in the league (one third of a now revolutionary half back line), with one of the slowest & include another tall who hasn't run in 10 weeks...is just beyond me.
.yeh we lost soldo lynch bolton to injury...what could go wrong?....lets "get a game into" treacle & syndo...broady on the scrapheap.
.yeh we'll probly win but im starting to smell arrogance & unfairness.

Really feel for Oleg - he was dropped just before the 2017 finals and now again. Seems like a very popular guy with his teamates and always has a smile on his face.

I really rate him and have been singing his praises. I hope he gets back in but if he doesn't I think he will be a regular next year.
The club surely will resign him due to his form of late and also If broad signs with GC and if Houli retires this will open up a few spots in the back half.

Yeah, I feel for Markov too but the last defender in makes way for Astbury. What are you going to do?

I agree Markov we should hold on to as Houli is near the end.

As for Broad, he is a very good player, I suspect we would want to play him but he just don't fit.

So much depth, it is a great problem to have when you are dropping players who you really want in the side.

Hoping Astbury has some presence in today's match. Just running around won't be enough ... can do that on the training track any day.
With the bye next week he will have so little match time under his belt by the time the first final rolls around. Hope he's ready to rumble today and not too rusty.
I'm rather ambivalent about his return to the team, but time will tell if it is an astute selection.

Wtf?!
.we haven't learnt a thing...how dou think we've proven too strong the last 4 years?..our depth of pace across the board...point of difference?!
.we only took 37 bloody years to work it out ...we binged on pace recruiting & ended up light years ahead...now ur telling me u don't understand it?
.I'm not interested in responses from proven clinically slow, great 2 years ago caddys & astos with half a scratch match (last years balta no room for both) ..work it out...our half back line (all quarter backs) short baker markov combined with speed of grimes & balta are the envy of the comp...& now u've disbanded.
.as for the broad (quintessential plays tall & short with speed) total disrespect without explanation = fan disrespect
.disgusted!

Nope 2 Premierships in 3 years. When we we learn? Honestly Broad and Markov aren't the two I think of when deciding most important in our line up. Third tall up or outside backman are more readily replaceable and that's where they sit in the pecking order. Let Tigers hierarchy make their decisions, there's going to be heaps more to make with Bolton, Lynch and Prestia to come back. In the end experience and a healthy list wins you the big games. Let's just keep our fingers crossed no more injuries and we can pick the best most experienced side possible for the finals.

I am starting to think our emergency bench is going to look very, very good.
Broad, Markov now...

Changes Week 1 of Finals
Ross out for Prestia, Caddy out for Lynch but for the life of me who goes out for Bolton?

Daniel or George I suppose.

Astbury just had to be picked. We need him fit and match ready for the finals so that when we come up against a big forward line we've got DTLD, Balta and Grimes to sort 'em out.

I'm sad for Leggo, as I am for Broad (I'm a big fan of Broady), but our depth is a thing to behold and everyone don't fit.

As I've said before, there will be some disappointed boys. And guess what, there will be a few more when Lynch, Bolton and (probably) Prestia return.

Oleg extremely stiff. and yes, we've gone slow.

But I get it.

pretty reassuring to have Broady and Oleg ready to come in the event of injury.

OMFG, our depth is extraordinary.

On the 2019 premiership flag, I think it should be marched up from Melbourne by all the members.

a version of the long walk. The Army marches on QLD and by the time they get there, either they've quarantined or the borders open,

or if not, they just march through the barricades, and take the Gabba.

I don't want to tempt any fate, and I'm leaning my entire body on a wooden bench as I type,

But we could potentially get an injury in a prelim, and field a stronger 22 the following week

Think we are flaunting with danger brining 3 players in who have missed a lot of footy

Has to happen come what may. Same for Prestia. We lost to Port not because the team didn't have a go or play well - they did, but sometimes against the best, stout hearts aren't enough you need all your best players on the park. That means they need time to gel. Last year our returnees from injury had time - this year not so much. Greater risk as you say.

Caddy was the biggest surprise in for me but assume he is in to reprise his old forward pocket marking blocking role while Lynch out.
Too slow these days for midfield but we are playing the slouch brothers this week who aren't quick.
Wing spots locked away.

If everyone fit Caddy not best 22 for mine.

Forgot about Jack the Snag - Jack can't even make the emergency bench. That is a lot of players that I would be happy to call AFL standard and happy for them to be called up who are not getting a gig.

Good reason why premiership teams get raided.

I think the only guy getting an easy pass in is Chol. If he can step up and contribute then the side will be very difficult to beat.
We will need Tetchy Tom back though to go all the way.

Yes Astbury is slow compared to Oleg. But the other changes see some speed added. Caddy over lynch. Chol over soldo. Edwards = Bolton.

Astbury is not slow for a key defender, he performs well in running sessions at training, I think people are confusing Dave's sometimes reluctance to move the footy on quickly with his actual leg speed.
