Changes for Semi

Dont see the point of t1ts in there. What role does he play? We already have astbury, grimes, Balta.

My only concern about not playing Chol is what happens if we play next week against the Saints who have Ryder and Marshall.
Having Nank ruck alone could be too much of an aak and we will get exploited by playing Caddy or Broad.

Play Markov or Broad, weigh up if we want the height of speed on who gets chosen. Grimes fullback. Balta second ruck who helps out the defence.

Looking forward to doing it the hard way. Great opportunity to join great sides like hawks/lions/cats dynasties.

Lynch for Chol the obvious.

Based on the first 5 pages of this thread most of you are ok with keeping Jason Castagna in the team. I just don't get why he is an automatic selection week in week out. You may say his role is to bring pressure, tackles, speed chaos to our team...is he really living up to that role, 2 tackles last night and don't remember seeing him chase like a maniac as previously? Its like being an automatic selection in a cricket team because you are a good fielder. I think Jason Castagna is the Paul Collingwood of the RFC...give him a MBE.

Maybe i'm just not smart enough to understand what he brings to the table but I think if Rioli can be dropped 2-3 times over the last 12 months surely Castagna can be dropped also if not living up to his role.

Lynch for Chol
Caddy for a small forward. (could've done with him last night ! )

Its very simple.

Through necessity Balta goes out of defence and is second ruck the 2019 defence is reformed they know how to play together its a no brainer for mine.

Balta is the ONLY player capable of somewhat ably assisting Nank as Chol has proven thathe is not and we start a man down my concerns about Chol have been proven yet again he cannot get another game.

Balta chops out Nank.

Broad has never let the Tigers down in a final, they are the blokes you want out there when the heat is on.

Assuming Tommy is fit:

Lynch for Chol.

If not , Astbury to deep forward role, Caddy or Markov in. Markov's speed enticing. Chol still out.
Jack Ross for Jake Aarts? Line ball call.
Try Bakes on the wing to replace Pickett. See how it goes, with Marlion in reserve on interchange.

Astbury or Caddy to ruck boundary throw ins on forward line. Play Nank a kick behind as much as possible. Ask Nank to stop calling for handballs.

(Try to save Dusty for later in the game.)

Thats whjy Noah plays second ruck with his size and leap.

I think we don't make any fancy changes, we get back to doing what we do best. But it depends who our next opponent is.

In Lynch, Broad

Out Chol, Pickett

I assume Caddy is not fit.

Balta to the bench initially and then to play a tall utility role. Support Nank in the ruck and pinch hit where required.

Exactly

Balta to second ruck is as obvious as the proverbial has height can jump like a bastard and will compete. He is the only viable second ruck option left.

With Broad and Dave we don't need him in defence for the rest of this year.

He can go back to KPD next pres eason but its all about NOW.

Is a weapon through the middle and was played in the ruck plenty last year.

Its about winning finals.

Broad reforms a premiership defence that can play together blindfolded.

I’ve been against moving Balta out of defence, but with Astbury back it is a logical move, and we know that no matter where on the ground he plays he’ll give us more than Chol. This season feels a lot like 18 with injuries at the wrong time and guys coming back in a bit underdone.

Sorry Craig I don’t get this logic. We haven’t done this all year. Even when Nank was out, it was Soldo and Chol doing the ruck work. Why all of a sudden would we change this? Balta is in career best form. You don’t mess with that.

In: Markov, Ross, Lynch
Out: Houli, Lambert, Chol - all passengers last night

Because we don't have Soldo and Chol is a bust and cannot be trusted again.

Soldo carried the ruck with Nank and carrierd the ruck with Chol, his loss could well be the blow that will cost a chance at the flag.

In fact Soldos loss for next year is going to be a massive blow.

We dont need Noah in defence right now with Dave and Broad available. The 2019 premiership defence it is available and should be utilised.

Noah can go back to defence next year but I want the RFC to have a chance at the flag.

Its about now not Next Year.

We have no other viable uck alternatives available ....none.

Nank is not 2017 Nank, and Chol is a bust.

In Lynch, Broad
Out Chol, one of Pickett/Lambert/George

Broad gives great flexibility. He could play wing, then drop back in defence while Balta relief rucks. He could also slip forward and being an alternate marking forward. He did OK at that briefly last year against Port. He could also play the Grigg role, which I think was what happened after Nank was hurt in that game.

Wednesdays match committee is the most crucial in living memory IMO.

We wont make sweeping changes but they must be astute.

My thoughts;

1. Chol out is a no brainer
2. aarts suffered from absence of lynch. He stays
3. Ruck support for nank? *smile* it. Just go one out and ask him to be herculean again. He has form.

So we may simply go lynch for chol.

We need to play 20 of the same blokes for the next 3 weeks if we are going to pull this off.

Were do caddy and broad fit?

4. Im concerned the effect DTLD is inadvertantly having on the back 6. Noah has gone quiet on his return.

An option that MAY be discussed is broad for astbury. This is highly unlikely because we have to topple port, and well need DTLD as gorilla tamer.

I dont have the answers.

I dont see the need for sweeping changes. Stay the course and back ourselves in.

My changes would be Chol and Aarts out for Lynch and Caddy. I am confident we are good enough to still go all the way, however it will be tougher now.
