Changes for Rnd 9 Dreamtime

Slowly there understanding.
More than likely a lack of options to play with rather than the light of understanding.
Foley, Petterd, Knights, Conca, Vickery, Lambert ( mature age ), Newman, Lloyd, Gordon, Dea, Hampson. There's a large pool of mature n experienced footballers either injured or with moderate form that simply cannot be chosen instead of being automatic replacements.
Good position for the youngsters to be in as there's a claim to be made on the hit parade, pity Beatle n Madonna are obviously singing the wrong tunes at the moment, it's time they got on song n joined in.

This is how you install confidence and a winning culture play the younglings while your playing good accountable footy only question that needs to be asked is why did it take so long

We had the worst list in the comp in an era of unprecedented draft concessions, so we took moneyballers and played them around the young talent we did have to give them a chance to develop in a competitive side. the other kids we took were not good enough to claim their spots.

In the first un compromised draft we took mainly kids.

After a poor start and some injuries the kids are getting games. Some of em have been good enough to keep their spot. Seems like some of the talent is leaving the money ballers on the fringe, wich is a great sign!

Memories of clevo's avatar years ago...

Beano's already got the beard, just needs to grow his hair longer.

And straighten one of his thumbs. ;D

Oh. McBean may be Christ but he's no Buddy.

Suspect we're carrying one too many youngsters to win this. Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah agreed, I'm nervous about this one. Need to curtail Watson and our guns have really good games. I hate losing to essendrugs more than anything.

Reckon you worry too much about that. IF Newman was playing in lieu of McBean would it really make a difference to the result?

Anyone got the games and age spread for the selected sides?

last week we our ave age was: 24yr 7m. ave games: 87.2. swapping TV for McBean will obviously lower that a little.
the dons ave age was: 26y 4m ave games:116.1
(thanks to footywire)

3 weeks ago I think a lot of us thought that out of the block of 4 tough games this was the most likely that we could win given Essendon's form. Coming off back-to-back wins I think if we were to drop this one it would be the most disappointing.

I still think Essendon's form is ordinary and I hope we prove that tomorrow with a win. I was confident we could roll Port given they way they had been playing and providing we can win it out of the centre I think we have enough in the forward line to kick a winning score.

I'd like to think that Daniher won't have the sort of game he had against a pretty week Lions defence with Rance, Batchelor and now Grimes all playing well.

The expected change. Now hopefully McBean can get a block of games while Tyrone is out. I think C. Ellis will be the sub this week and Menadue will get the full game.

Es 26.36 122.3
Ri 24.37 88.9

Fletcher pushes that avg up a fair bit, presumably? They also have old farts like Chapman, Goddard, Cooney pushing that avg up. They will have the experience. I reckon our younger boys are better.

I'm just very happy that we're starting to see some genuine youth exposed to the big leagues.
Winning is a bonus. Just hope we play well again and see positive signs from the young players.

To a certain extent injuries have forced our hand there, but whatever the reason it's a move in the right direction and setting up for the future.

Yeah I could handle a loss if we play well. Often been horrid in this game.

They would have had a gun team in 2009

*smile* that! We need the win, big time!
