One thing about those stats that is quite sweet is that until their recent horror run Carlton had the record for never having won the spoon.

True and the short range. 5 in 16 years or if they get it this year, 6 in 17. Terrible!!

Hard to believe that amid all the carnage they were (briefly) premiership favourites seven years ago.

AFL flag favouritism suits confident Blues

They got wrecked the next week by a Dank-powered Essendon; things headed downhill and are arguably still going that way.

Ratten did a fantastic job to that point, as good or better than Hardwick. Injuries came first, then Ratten lost the players and was sacked, and then came the mad rush to offload quality players while recruiting poorly.

Not sure how many of the board and football department were left when Bolton was appointed, but I don't think Carlton has ever been honest with itself about its past failings. Reckon better coaches than Bolton would've failed under the club's post-2015 approach.

Wow that is hard to believe now.

Blobbo's dreamed up Poosy's the right one for the job. :rofl

56 this month. History says he's probably too old. He could put the foundations in place for a couple of years as they're not contending in the short term.

It's not exactly a plum job, but it's a better job than when Bolton started. Plenty will put their hands up.

How the heck did the saints survive the 80s?

Doubt Poosy's gonna go through the headache again.

Nice guy, but a speech like that shows how deluded a person like him is. He comes across like a 17yo schoolboy who was given a free managerial role in a company.

Interesting observation... maybe suits the Board who appointed him which comprises many whose fortune was handed to them by husband, father, uncle.

Paid employees seven cents in the dollar!

Then Lockett arrived, with Harvey, Burke, Loewe & Winmar.

Lucky!

How come Bolton did so well at the hawks?
Bolton wasnt the problem.
Self entitlement is the problem.
They’ll appoint someone ‘win us a flag or else’
‘This man is the answer!’

In 2021 ‘this man is definitely not the answer’.

Yeah because Melbourne’s a great blueprint.... :hihi

Old school thinking that sacking the coach is the answer.
Shows the blues are still stuck in the 80’s - 90’s

IMO
Recruiting guy
Development coach
Football manager
Are more important then then the coach

Need the top 2 to be right for the coach to have any chance.

Matthew Lloyd just said that the next Carlton coach has a lot to work with and should be excited.
Doesn’t little Lloydy’s brother work at princess park?
Caro said Doofus won’t be the only one to get the ass, Lloyd fires back ‘who’s next!, do you know?’
Chris Judd should just bring in a Shield, he just deflects every question. Gutless arrogant prick.

Bolton was a massive part of the problem. Hawks were on auto pilot when he won games there.

He was a coaches *smile*. Whoever selected him should go.
Doofus, Neeld and Watters are the worse coaches ever

Yeah I’ve said it before, waste of time asking him about Carlton. He gives absolutely nothing away. Understandable perhaps, but a waste of time.
