Bye Bye Jack Higgins!

its funny. 3 pages ago this thread is filled with comments about how well he played against the Dees, noting his 25 disposals. since last night the thread is about how Higgins hasnt played a good game all year.

fickle bunch huh

Loving the fact that Higlet (and Baker too) go to every mark 100%. There is no “wait for it to bounce” if the kick is a bit short, it’s full on dive forwards. Great stuff to watch.

Higlet is probably going through the old second season blues. Whereas in the past that would mean our highflying kid produces sweet fa, Higlet is still contributing, holding his place and is still a very clever footballer.

As a long term prospect, he's still a ripper.

Spot on Baloo, the Higlet gives it 100%,not flying under the radar with the opposition anymore, still a useful contributor though.

He's an excellent link player. Just makes the right decision always as required.

Very true ToO, Higlet's a very smart player, does a lot of team things that don't always show up on stats. He's playing reasonably well but not "flying" like last year. has a slight dose of the second year blues. He is however building a nice base to his footy career.

2nd year blues usually means reduced performance doesn't it over the first year. He's had more disposals, marks, goals, tackles, inside 50s, rebound 50s, 1%ers. Down on contested possessions and clearances. Seems like he's running up and down harder but maybe playing slightly more outside than in his 1st year when getting midfield time. I reckon he's been quietly doing his thing this year without fanfare. Might have been asked to pull his head in a bit. Very good player.

But no goal of the week award yet.

Very true. There was a bit of play on the weekend where he was in a fair position to repeat that feat but I think the opposition were onto it.

Dunno why so many people are down on the Higlet regarding his form.
No Cotchin for most of the season.
No Grigga for all of the season.
No Jaaack or Tross most of the season.
Dusty slightly down on form earlier.
Cadds, Graham and Bash all missed a bit through injuries now Nank n Lamblett.

There's been massive responsibility and load pushed downwards onto the shoulders of the young and very inexperienced players this year n for mine they've been standing up brilliantly.

From my observation and I might be wrong ,

But seems a little more team orientated this year , more likely to play the percentages than go for the miracle play ,

Maturity or coaching perhaps ?
