Bye Bye Jack Higgins!

Sounding like broken record - i am an unabashed advocate for Higgo, but he played a really mature, complete and poised game. He deserves to be a 2018 Premiership player.
Can you imagine the look of unbridled joy on Higlet's face when they put the Premiership medal around his neck?

Hes an absolute beauty no doubt...

Slightly concerned with all the talk about 2018 premiership medals..... I was only explaining to my 9 year old yesterday the top of the ladder team in 2017 didn't win it... Whilst were looking good anything can happen, they are so tough to win, don't let the media rubbish brainwash you that they are ours already!

Agree.

Remember when Adelaide’s Lynch said “Dangerfield could’ve been a premiership player if he stayed”? Thankfully the players seem to have a great, humble perspective and want to get better.

I'm definitely not counting chickens before they hatch. 37 years of disappointments between premierships doesn't just vanish.

I was nervous before Friday's game against the Saints and I know I'll be nervous as we go into next weekends game against the Filth.

When we play finals I'll be very nervous, and if we make the GF, I'll need a Bex and a lie down.

Still, IF we win the premiership, watch Higgo's excitement.

I have come around - real good little player this kid. Learning off similar types in Prestia and Lambert will enhance his development no end. Real good with his hands and is a true gut runner both ways. Big future I reckon.

Yeah at the time I was surprised we picked another small forward - thought we should have picked the best tall forward.

Little did I know he could be a gun mid and he is making a premiership team better which is a big statement for a first year player

Said this earlier in the thread but having a first year player break into the midfield of the reigning premier is amazing. tracking beautifully.

Set shot kicking not great though.

Don’t know if he’d keep his spot if Houli butler graham were available.

Hats off to Jack, he did absolutely everything he possibly could to make an AFL list. He's got pretty good skills, but it's his fitness that's enabled him to make an impact in his first year.
He's set a good example to the players that were drafted with him, and to those that have been on our list before him.
As first year player you'd think he might be feeling the pinch, but he's not, with his fitness he's getting better. Well done Jack :clap

Yep he would. Last game two of those three played CEllis was in the team and he’s well ahead of him.

Imagine the running tank on this kid after a couple more seasons

You'd think he'll be like a Lambert and Prestia, if he doesn't get a rising star nomination before the seasons over, they're a pack of cheats.

Although, that statement could have been true if Dangerfield did indeed stay. Would have been significantly harder to have beaten them in last years GF if he was in it.

Me too. We should only be worried about the 2019 premiership medals at this stage.

Yeah a first year player who’s more than holding his own in the midfield of the reigning premier and top of the ladder team.

But they can’t find him a Rising Star nomination ::) What a joke.

He's having a good debut year. Hope he can get a Rising Star nomination.
Doesn't do anything fancy or spectacular, way to much the blue collar head down arse up worker. Kid will be lucky to get nominated, perhaps only through persistence of honest work load will he earn a compensatory mention. Doubt very much that he'll draw any award votes if he is finally nominated.
But I couldn't give a rats about the rising medal, reckon we've got a genuine kid who'll grow into a persistent constant hard working mid who just gets in and performs week in week out over his career.

Nah, he obviously hasn't done enough. ::)

Worpel will get it this week for his 32 touch performance against Carlton.

Higgins got 25 touches from around 60% game time against last years Grand Finalists and not a sniff!
