Bye Bye Jack Higgins!

I know its not the point you wanted to make but going back to Menadue in the sprint, He took it very easy both at the start and the finish
Im sure if he was going 100% he would have had another 2-3 mtrs on the field - The Dew is lightening quick

And I’ve been told Drummond is quicker.

It's definately not the point I was trying to make.
Unless you know something otherwise, it would be a very audacious athlete who took it easy at the start against some very quick players.
I believe Menedue is not that electric off the mark and only toyed with the field once he wound out and knew he was over the line. The fat cheque at the end would mean something to him and unless he was "Usainly" confident, I doubt he started slowly on purpose.
My point is that some players are very powerful off the mark and this is very important for AFL players to allow them to create separation quickly. I hope Higgins has this.
Looks like he has the endurance

Finished 3rd behind Brando and Lambert in our recent time trial.

Easy done when half the list has came back with a hangover

Higgins. Phenomenal for a first year small forward. Great signs!

It is truly, but not such a shock after seeing that photo of all the new draftees. Higgins' legs have muscles on top of muscles. Incredible legs for a new kid.

wow.

would slot straight in if we didnt have half a dozen ferocious midgets with tanks.

might slot in anyway.

if we stick to the same game plan, which i believe we will, we'll be able to bring in midgets for a few rounds.

Like NFL punters.

and we'll have a savage bliss of fresh-as-daisy midgets, champing at the little bits for finals.

With this triumph of midgets, would there be a MRP (midget rotation policy)?
Say a maximum of 3 matches before a spell?

Or is it a midgets for courses policy?
On larger grounds like WA we could play taller Bolton, but for the tight scg its

Because we have George and Butts living together, we could set them up in group houses.
House them as we aim to play them
The fellas practice working in sync etc
Then each week we select a different house to play

Alpha house is George, Butts and Short could join them
Rioli runs Delta house with Bolton and Stengle
Zeta House is clearly Miles, Concs and Griff

Professor Higgins and Bakes have a choice to make

I don’t think he was taking it easy, he just doesn’t have a really high cadence but is able to use his stride length to great effect. Overall he has a very smooth gliding sprinting technique, he runs over the ground not through it..so to speak.

I hope to see him playing CHF from R1. Probably not ready for full time ruck yet but should be tested.

Might yet see him in Round 1.

Theres Houli and Prestia with question marks on them and also Broad and Dan Rioli to be replaced.

From supporter reports and Clarke's assessment on Jack, it appears that he is about ready for blooding in AFL. Appears to have all the attributes to slot into the team seamlessly. Will be a interesting selection meeting this week
