Brett Ratten sacked

Or their administrations.

The RFC is blessed to have the "Chief" in charge, not only does he have business smarts and legal acumemn , he also played the bloody game which allows him insights into facets of footy clubs that other suits dont have,
Took us a longggggggg time to realize that though Craigo.

Thank God they actually woke up once the "Focus on Football" crew came along. Probably got us balmy and he rest is history.

This guy did intrigue me by the way.

Who is he ?

TBR ?

Hird as coach, with Sam Fisher as his senior assistant aren't dopes and should be seriously considered for the Aints job :p

Is that because of the way he left or the style of football he uses TT?

More So the way he left Bigfella, I remeber at the time it happened he was very dirty on him. My mate is one of the fairest & most balanced people I know but he's still not a Lyon fan at all.

All obvious Wossy's gonna get the job. This is all desperation again. We impressed teams with 3 flags, Boringbourne and Pussies the same in the last 2 seasons. Looks like the Bummers and the Aints hit the desperado pills and just wanted to fast-track the next best coach.

Gunna be a lot of disgruntled members if that happens.

Was an interesting read in the paper today about it all, seemed like the Saints were luke warm on him until they found out he was leaving.

Looks like you might find an Austrian house painter in his family history if you go back far enough.

Apparently that is becoming a standard clause in coaching contracts. Believe Hinkley has the same in his.
Yep. AFL changed the rules only over last 12 mths or so. To stop clubs wasting huge $$$ on reckless decisions re coaches - whether appointing or sacking.
I mean, AFL changed its contractuall rules re coaches for all AFL clubs. Only liability now is for 6mth payout, no matter what contract length, or what club.

So, once again, AFL rule changes facilitated this sacking to some degree. [Saw the article but haven't time to dig up atm. Sure a search will produce it; think it was on AFL site or maybe Fox sports/SEN?]

The coaches can negotiate their own contracts though Leon.

The AFL could recommend to clubs to use that clause but the coach doesn't have to sign off on it.

Are these donkeys doing a proper, full blown appointment process for their next sap ? I read on the weekend that Bassat had met with Lyon before Rats was sacked and they talked well into the night over a few bottles of red. And I see Lyon had a 4 hour meeting at Bassat’s house yesterday. Sounds very 80’s-ish.

Good ole St Failure.

One of My Saints supporting mates said " If Lyon gets The coaching job for us, I & The 5 mates I go with most weeks, will hand back our memberships". He's been a member for close on 40 years as has most of his mates.
He also said that he'd heard the same sentiment from many other members he knows.

I hope they aren't that stupid, but who knows.
I have 2 family members who are long time saints members and one guy at work who is also a member. The past 2 days all of them have said if wossy is coach , that won’t be renewing.
