I am very happy with all of yoour responses bar TIGERMAD. Go back to big footy I have no interest in your opinion as it is never constructive and always personal. I'm fighting fire with fire.

Everyone else thanks for easing my frustration, due to work and kids I haven't managed to watch many games and can only assume things based on what I am reading in hear every day.

Meyer is the only player capable of being the next Nathan Brown and if you've seen him at COburg recently you would say he will be a gun.

I want what you're having benny. :spin

I do agree though that because of the lack of quality seniors that our kids are carrying the can more than most teams.

OK I was a bit unfair on the kids as they are carrying the load but.

Wallace had the opertunity to be alot more aggresive in his rebuilding but instead tried to have his cake and eat it too.
He wanted short term success to prove he could coach.
Well in my opinion it has backfired because it is rnd 7 2007 and now we have a youth policy???
We should have had a youth policy rnd 1 2005.
Wallace take a bow, as you like many before you over rated the richmond senior list.
It sometimes just feels like we will never get out of the rut if you know what I mean.
I will still bye a membership as I want to do all I can to support the club but I am just sick of the same *smile* for 25 yrs. all through school and adult hood they have been a joke and the joke keeps getting bigger every year.

something disturbing i have noticed about lids is his inability or lack of desire to go and get the hard ball. too many time i notice him hovering around packs either waiting for the ball to spill out, or waiting for a foley to give it to him so he can run.
noticed his defensive efforts on the weekend against ling. one in particular when he drifted in front of ling and looked like he was gonna take the mark or spoil, but went right under it, and it fell into lings hands. misjudgement or scared to put the body in and get some contact from behind???

another thing where are the tackles. 7 tackles all year compared to 20 by bling, thats nearly triple.

i hate to say this, but by my reckoning bling has gone past lids, and it should be lids who has all the heat put onto him. at least bling has a go, puts his body on the line and looks like he give a s*&t. that first qtr burst (4 goals) alone is better than anything lids has given us this year.......

might be time to give him a kick up the backside and a week or two with coburg. :'(

Deledio deserves some heat no doubt. He gets a pretty charmed run with supporters.
7 tackles in 6 games ain't pretty reading. His defensive efforts really deserve to be under the microscope.

Whether Bling has gone past him or not is debateable but Franklin sure has.
Deledio is stagnating a little too much for my liking and I'm beginning to have doubts that he has the makings of a midfielder at all, let alone an elite one. :-\

Our number one draft pick needs to extract the digit.

ges more disposals over his career than anyone in that draft except Jordan Lewis and he has been playing in a team that has the most disposals in the league, he is consistently played in the midfield and he averages more game time than Lids and is 1 month short of being a year older than him. Sure his defensive side needs help, but in terms of his age and time in the AFL he is doing well. It was only a couple of weeks ago people were asking for Deledio to be captain after he had a good game.

If that's the case, then to me you have to question HOW he is being told to play the game. This guy is not simply an outstanding athlete, he is a thinker as well, so you'd have to reckon that if he sees opportunity he'll grab it, rather than wait for it to be handed to him.

In other words, I am implying that he is being TOLD to play as a receiver which, if I am correct, is not the way he SHOULD be playing. Just becasue the guy has pace doesn't mean he should fill the run-to-receive role permanently.

I was disappointed to watch him a few weeks ago (against Sydney I think) play the entire game deep in the backline. He was having to mop up more than create run as it was obviously intended for him to do.

One bad game (in a 150+ point drubbing) and the knives are out. Its time for Lids to play consistently in the middle. The middle is not functioning, he is the future, makes sense to play him in the middle. We have a number of types who could take on his current role in the backline.

Far from the knives being out Goodies I was just highlighting a considerable weakness in his game that has been apparent over the past three seasons.

As many have been asking, Terry gave him a red hot go in the middle on weekend and whilst he needs further opportunities, the results weren't flash at all.

What makes you convinced he's a he destined to be an elite midfielder?

The 20 year old is playing his 50th game this week. As his vice-president i would like to say well done and i are looking forward to many more milestone to come in the future.
Well done

Totally agree Goodone. If has poor games in the middle so be it. I couldn't see the point on Saturday night having him deep in the forward pocket for long periods of the game. If he's going to mature as a player and reach his great potential (and I think he will), put him in the midfield and persevere. And when he plays on Ling again, tell him to run all day - how he couldn't burn off that plodder is beyond me. Doesn't help when your team doesn't have the ball I suppose.

He seems to be having some difficulty shaking the tag.
Perhaps that will come with maturity perhaps not?
If some of our senior blokes would do a little enforcing it might make it a little easier for him. ::)

Good work tannerz. Congratulations Lids. Keep working hard and improving over the next 50 and you'll be cherry ripe for a premiership appointment.

Look, yeah nah, is Deledio a midfielder to start with?? He was never a ball magnet at underage level anyway if I remember some of those early reviews on him. What is he? What can he become? I personally would like to see him with carte blanche in entire forward half of the ground for a while, running for marks and goals at random. I just see this guy as an all out attack machine, at least to me he has been blessed with the physical gifts for a role like this. He`s as quick as it gets can jump over a house and kick 70m torp goals!! And they're trying to teach him defence!!! I'm sick of it. Let him run his HBF opponent ragged for once. Let his opponent react to what Lids is gonna do for once!! To me his natural game is trying to tear the opposition a new scoreboard hole and that is by kicking goals. This kid has the talents of the Jezza's of Australian footy...high leaping goal scoring attacking machines...plus he can run like the wind....am I waaaaay off base here?? Help me out.

I agree with the comment about having trouble with tags and he's certainly not getting a lot of support. However he's never going to learn how to beat a tagger playing in the forward pocket. Get in the middle Lids and back yourself. Win the ball and use your pace and skill.

A few 100ths coming up with Newman on 95 games, Krackouer on 97 and Hall on 99, thats if Krak and Hall get a game. Also 10 more games till Richos magical 250th.

Well, he's certainly got reason enough to make his 50th a good one. Well done Brett, show those feral wankers what you are made of.
