Brandon Ellis

His pointing and remonstrating when his opponent takes a mark in the forward line makes me want to smash his face in

Rather see Naish play his role or even Short when fit again. Short has some deficiencies defensively but he is a weapon offensively. Ellis offers little defensively or offensively.

He is what is he is. There's some good points but his deficiencies are often glaring.
When I watch Ellis now I use mindfulness to survive the game.

Dimma will be hard pressed to drop him after all the lovey dovey “I focus too much on what he doesn’t bring instead of what he does”... “feel better when he is in the side”....stuff from earlier in the season.

The team playing well enables Ellis to play well because it gives him that extra bit of space he needs, and we're less reliant on him at least squaring one-on-ones. When we're down/depleted he's going to be exposed. That's just what he is. Not terrible, not complete.

Are you serious? Short was a cat before the elbow injury, he wont go near it when he returns.
Short isnt the answer

His just doing what he's done his whole career.

oscillating between brando and bellis

it could've been worse.

at least we've had brando half the time.

I’m deadly serious. Short on a wing could do some damage.

Wing ok, but nowhere near the defence.
Ellis houli and short. That would scare any side..NOT

The most valuable asset for any elite sports man or woman is consistent high level performance. The problem with Ellis is exactly that - far too much variation between his best and worse. If we as a club aspire to greatness within the 3-4 years left for this group, he can't be part of it.

Next season, the wingers need to be Balta, McIntosh, Naish and Houli by rotation.

Think you've called a bit early.
Forgetting Ross, Stack, Turner, and of course Picket.

We need Ross and Pickett to become the contested ball/clearance kings we're so badly missing. Stack is best suited to half back I reckon but yes Turner is another wing option. May be rivaling Naish for that role.

Yep give me short over bellis every day of the week. At least he can kick the pill.
