He made the distance with a drop punt and the siren went 5 seconds after he took the mark (32+ minutes on the clock).

Everyone is just taking the opportunity to pot him for their previously held beliefs that he's selfish. I'm not a fan btw, just pointing out the facts of the matter.
No probs. Thanks

He might the right choice to have a shot.
Bit to learn. Needs to perfect the Jeff Farmer "look to give it off with no intention to give it off" look

No point in potting Lennon. Sure there may be some questions asked, but the bottom line is that the young man will have to live with the knowledge that he could have won the premiership for Richmond's VFL team with a true kick after the siren, but didn't convert in the end.
Did players go to him after he missed the conversion?
That all said, probably the last kick of the sherrin in RFC colours for the young man.

Yeah. He should have kicked it. He didnt.

Agree, our whole mantra now is team first. There isn't an AFL player that will line up for the AFL GF next week that would have done the same in the same situation. All players would have looked for someone in a better position and looked to move the ball quicker.

In the prelim I was screaming out BE Selfish. Sometimes you just have to bang the *smile* through the sticks andnot look for that extra handball or dinky chip kick. B Ellis last quarter eg.... Should have drilled it from 35 and instead almost fresh airs a pass to butler.. Lucky bounce poor defence and butler got it back fir a goal. Given margin could laugh but sometimes the team thing is to take The responsibility and take the shot.

Griff should have taken the shot a little earlier. When you've got a good leg, back yourself in.
Or passed to Bolton. Maybe that was a free to Hunt too.

Spot on. Looked devastated after the shot too.

had he passed the ball, I reckon the siren might've gone before the mark(if marked by a rfc player). Then what, believe everyone would've hanged him out to dry for not having a shot. Distance not an issue for him. Made the right call. Not a fan of his but truly felt for him for missing a shot that cost a GF win ! Doesn't get any bigger than that.

problems elsewhere that we lost the lead

Agree - the clock was against him to try to pass it off. He had to bsck himself in that situation. Chol's shocking miss was the difference.

Didn't turn around to look for anyone. That did the damage in my opinion . Shai was wide open.

But they played the outside very well today, Port. Sad result. No individual can take the heat for this.

That last two minutes were intense. Every borough fan was baying for the siren to go. It could have gone any second. Any moment. All we were hoping for was that if any player had a clear shot at goal then take it! All you knobs potting Lennon for looking for another option have short memories. Only 24hrs earlier Patton did the right thing (as you see it) and look what happened!!! At the time everyone at the pub just wanted him to stop and go back and slot it. He did the right thing without any doubt.

Yep, I thought he did the right thing too. He was within distance, easily so. If he had have been straighter he'd be a hero.

I agree he did the right thing. He took the responsibility as an AFL listed player and first round draft pick. In reality, if he kicked it, it could have saved his career with us.

Looks like the only thing vibrant in 2018 will be the Puma Guernseys.

Is that Scoop I see clinging to an old palm tree? :hihi

Just shows how AFL takes no prisoners. All Aus, AFLAIS, TAC as both bottom and top age. But something just wasn’t there that would allow him to be a regular AFL player. Will probably get rookied by another club and if he does good luck to him.
