Ben Lennon

Dangerfield did it on one leg. I'm surprised Lloyd wasn't tried in this role. And Lennon was close to getting his shot before injury.

Surely the brains trust will give it a shot with one of them, or Griff, before the finals.

Playing medium forwards one-out against medium defenders is exploiting the opposition as much as it is playing to our strengths. Medium defenders haven't spent years of their career training to win one-out aerial contests, whereas KPDs have.

Would love to see Lennon's Paddock (so would our smalls!)

The opposition might retain their defensive structure, but that just means we've got 2-3 opponents marking Ben Lennon :hihi If they play a tall KPD on him, then our worst 22 player is demanding attention from one of the opposition's best defenders, freeing up Jack for goal assists. What other problems are there to attempting to play someone like Lennon one-out?

How about a slightly radical approach, Ben at full forward & Jack centre half forward.
Didn't someone post that McCrae said Benny was more of a lead up type. He's a good mark & a straight kick. It might be worth a try.

Two-pronged tall forward approach? Way too radical. It's gotta be 3 or 1.

if we play Lennon as a the traditional full forward it completely changes the 2017 game plan.
we typically play a mid-sized deep forward of course - dusty, cotch, caddy.

rotating these guys isnt a surprise, all clubs have a plan when Dusty goes forward.
do they have a plan for when lennon goes forward? dont think they need one just yet.

nope the only opportunity for lennon is on the flank and work for a living.

he wants to leave so why play him ?
I know someone who has a connection to Lennon. He doesn't want to leave but feels he may have to as he is too far down the pecking order.

His preference is to stay at Richmond

That's a turn around. I guess after publicly shopping himself around last year and finding no takers he's decided we're his only hope to maximise his vibrancy.

He's been probably the second best player in the 2's all year after Miles. Hard to do a lot more. Isn't he leading the goal kicking despite not playing all the games?

If the coach refuses to play you, not much you can do. I expect Ben to get rookied somewhere and do well with more opportunity.

Has had 2 oppurtunitys at senior level this year, has had 17 touches and kicked 1 goal in those 2 games, had 5 turnovers in those as well, not exactly taking his oppurtunitys.

Think he's also well behind Townsend.
With Hardwick likely to see out next year on his current contract and stupids still in charge (Board, Gale, Richardson, Hartley) it is likely that all of Miles, Townsend and Lennon will be gone next year.

Then Balme will make a decision on the coach at end of 2018 and probably promote from within with all of Caracella, Rutten and Leppitsch in the frame.

theres any number of blokes who havnt looked at a ladder in a year JR82.

heaps of 'em who are, tragically, stuck in the past.

I just wish I could help 'em

It's incredible that with so many idiots running the club, a dud coach and so many inept players we are 4th on the ladder
