I don't know what he was doing passing to Martin in the last. No problem if he wants to share the ball but how he does not take 2 steps toward the boundary and handball back to Rioli inside who walks into goal is beyond me. Play worked out but turned an almost certain goal into a low risk play (saved by Martin's brilliance) that would have been in critical turnover territory.

That was staggering that play. I was at the other end but it looked to me as though he could have taken a bounce or 2, run into about 15 metres from goal and drilled it. Instead he decided to pass it across goal to a contested situation further out from goal from where he kicked it  It was stupid. Luckily Dusty was good enough to take a tough mark and kick the goal.

Anyway, unlike most of his other games he wasn't terrible. But he still wasn't great. Dropped marks he should have taken and made some poor decisions with the ball. I'd rather Lloyd any day if it's a choice between the two.

Just watched the replay. Had a crack, but still pedestrian.

Yeah he is just a bit too slow. And not sure the positive attributes can overcome this.

At least however he has dug in to have a crack after trying to leave.

This is the big knock for me. For the type of player he is billed as, and where his career is at, he has to hold his marks full stop. The two in particular that stood out for me were both under pressure, but not huge pressure. I like that he had a crack. But still just can't see it.

Absolutely agree. Also, he only had 9 touches.

I just don't see it with him.

Ahh, the same company that went out of business on The Collins Cove project. ;D

Hehe, pay that.

To be honest I don't know which island I'm on right now. Maybe I should buy the bridge.

Lennon WILL play next week , did what was required , tackled well & kicked 2 .
Naysayers must hate the way the club is going )))

He dropped a few marks that he should have taken, but I'll forgive that given he was probably very nervous, knowing full well that he's in last chance saloon this year.

What I was happy about was how hard he worked. Even though he's not quick he still tried his guts out to apply pressure and ended up effecting some good smothers, shepherds, tackles etc. In the past, he wouldn't chase, or smother and if he attempted a tackle it would be a sloppy useless attempt.

The effort was there, hopefully the marks stick next week, we need players who can lead up to the wing and take a solid mark to assist our defense in transition.

Encouraging game....

Draft position and pre-arrival perceptions are the problem of the club and the fans respectively. A player should be judged on whether he is in the best 22 or the best for the role in the club. At the moment I think Lloyds best is better than anything we have seen from Lennon, its up to Lennon to prove that premise wrong, not to me but to the selectors. Given we are going with two talls and three mosquitoes, I would be looking for the Lennon/Lloyd player to be provide a high forward marking outlet. Lloyd did that well last year Lennon appears to have the hands for it but hasn't really put it together yet.

Haven't seen much of the game but I did just watch Lennon lay a great tackle that was called holding the ball.. we played the advantage and Prestia missed on the run. Would've been some goal. Set up by lennons attack - good sign for him.

Yes, that's what I really noticed too; some pressure and tackling intensity. That was a top effort; shows a bit of mongrel perhaps, which I thought he lacked. Now to keep that coming, clutch his marks and improve the decision-making at times.
