Ben Lennon

Excellent return from Lennon, and also shows maturity as well.

Depending on how the seniors perform at Moe, is a chance for Rd1.

Good news re: Lennon and Bolton.

Is Stengle playing?
No Stengle was watching on with Rioli & Mabs and will all be playing tomorrow most likely.

VFL practice match only and it is what it is, but that was a dominant display by Lenno, if only he could do it in the real world.

Will have done his confidence the world of good.

wow. The obvious response by us all is that hes a good VFL player, and will infuriate us all by staying on the list for years, based on promise shown in the 2's.

I'd make two observations.

1. youde rather a good vfl player drawing pay, than a bad vfl player. Where there's hope, theres footy-life

2. he might be like an emerging garage band and will burst on the alt-scene when he finds his sound?

At this stage, I merrily rescind my 'bust' call. hold.

Would be good to see some vision. Usually RFC publish a video but perhaps holding off not to inflate his ego.

Would have done his confidence a world of good, not that he lacks any of that!

I too would like to see the vision/highlights of his haul and how he got them.
Were they leads?
Marks out front?
Pressure goals?
Crumbling? Etc

The kid has talent and we just have to find the right position for him forward.

I don't think HF is his spot.

I personally would like him deep forward.

He may not be a bust and I haven't given up hope on him.

Cannot get a regular spot in Tigers side so what is his floor price going to be come end of this season. ?.

I can see a difference in his body and albiet only 2 JLT games but his endeavor, should that continue through the year there is every chance he will make further improvements, lets hope for Ben and RFC he doesn't hang his head and keeps pushing to be the best player he can be and who knows he may come good after all, like many i can see his talent.

The Vision is now on the website. A couple of decent grabs, a couple of handball receives and some very decent snapping for goal which is one of his strengths.

First goal a goody. Second one hung out on the fat side to mark and goal. Third another hanging out goal side. Nice mark and goal at the other end. Another goal from hanging out gial side after a failed contested mark. Then a soft 50m penalty for a simpke goal. I've missed one. Good all-round collection. Nothing special but was where the ball was.

Very very good goals.

He got his goals playing the same game style he played JLT which is really encouraging.

Goal 1 - He makes the marking contest, recovers snaps.

Goal 2. Marking contest - mark - goal.

Goal 3 - snap

Goal 4 - marking contest - follow up second effort - pushes the ball forward - third effort snap goal- exactly what you ask for in a forward.

Goal 5 - contest - mark goal - beautiful kick 45 out on angle.

Goal 6 - Contest mark (up teh line) goal (50 metres helped)

Goal 7 - Ben goes to make the contest - sees we have numbers - holds back - handball receive - beautiful snap under pressure.

Don't know what DLR was smoking but Ben played as the coaches would want and then some. He plays rd 1 for mine.

The trouble is looking a bit more closely you can see that the tempo and pressure of this game is way below AFL level. Not sure what was going on with the Dogs team, but they look only semi-interested. Ben will cop heaps more heat and pressure in marking contests and LB gets than he did in this particular VFL PG.

However, love his approach for goal-kicking. Goes far enough back off the mark. Lovely, smooth run-up working up good pace and tempo to kick well through the ball, while staying loose and relaxed. Good impact and follow-through. Excellent technique here.
