Ben Lennon

Just on the Geelong game, Ben did have a shocker in the last but it was obvious he was unsure in what he should do. I dont know if Richo is referring to the pass to Jack when he could have kicked for goal but at the time, I thought Ben is the type to nail those and the pass seemed to be something he thought he should do.

The problem is continuity and confidence. You play your talented players and natural forwards like Ben. With experience and confidence they will make the right decision more often that not. However with Dimma's two game and dropped policy even if you have a good second game like Georgie or Marcon or Short or Lennon or Lloyd it's hard to build confidence.

Dimma contradicts himself in his own press conferences and his cause and effect confusion over key stats would back up Ben's points.

He did have a nightmare late in that game for sure. However he is not the type of player you leave isolated one on one in the forward 50 because he doesn't have the pace and agility.

I'm not going to say how I know as it wouldn't be fair to the people involved, but I've got 11k posts on another forum including one about this when it happened, and not much evidence of any big noting I wouldn't have thought.
whats your user name there

Who are those people you're talking about ? Any names or examples?

Since the season ended TM, Ahyeahnah, Mappa and Tigersnake (along with others) potted him, and you were not flattering yourself.

If this article has any truth to it then them the poor communication between coach and player maybe the major contributor to his form.

And for those who bagged the crap out of him for seeking a trade are you now eating humble pie as it was our illustrious coaches suggestion.

very interesting, and slightly disturbing story unfolding here.

In the geelong game, Ben Lennon had possibly THE most horrendous 10 minuted of football I can recall seeing.

While Danny Rioli was weaving a magic spell, Young Ben was conjuring some kind of debacle.

If Dimma DIDNT call him into his office and deliver a narrative to wither the kids eyebrows off his face, then the world has changed beyond a place i can comprehend.

So what am i to think? This is some kind of dichotomy, playing out in the media and on the internet, that I dont have the cognitive power to sift.

I just have to hope for the best.

I'm starting to understand now. If an article comes out that states a certain scenario then all previous information, views and knowledge should be thrown out the window because the latest is obviously the truth, whole truth, and nothing but the truth?

I wish I could live my life so simply.

It's a preseason puff piece. It's up to the reader to decide how they choose to use/misuse the words to make it clear cut evidence of their view on things.

Sorry, but I don't get this post. I bagged him for being a bum. Thinking that he wanted a trade was annoying, but by the by. If Dimma said get a trade because you aren't much chop, that's a point to Dimma in my book. I still think he's a bum, it looks like Dimma thought/ thinks he is a bum, and 17 clubs think he might be a bum.

Happy to eat humble pie if he comes good, as is always the case with any players I bag.

edit, just to be clear, you are trying to spin the fact that Dimma wanted to punt BL for not being good enough as bad coaching, I think it is good coaching. (not that I'd heap any big praise on dimma for it, its just basic stuff).

Sounds like the claims of a certain topical religion!!

"unsure what he should do"? how about have a crack, take a mark, chase, lay a tackle? He was woeful in multiple plays in the last Q, the kick to Jack was one of the lesser ones IMO. At least he got the ball and kicked it in that instance.

Worst game of the year surely goes to Taylor hunt. Forget who we were playing but it is amaking he ever got another game after such an effort.

Truly amazing. Says something about the coaching staff that he was recalled just 2 weeks later, especially after being average at best in his game at VFL level in between.

Good to read that Ben has been doing extra training with a sprint coach, it'd be great if he could gain a yard or two.
