Some big wraps there from Cal, I think the most pressing issues for Lennon boiled down to athleticism.

3.20sec/20m - bottom 20%
standing vertical - bottom 10%
agility - bottom 5%
3km - bottom 25%

In other words, his vice like hands are nigh on useless if he can't get separation and/or outstretch his opponents. I'm racking my brain to come up with a comparable player and the best case scenario (unfortunately) is Kayne Pettifer.

Actually amazing effort to perform as he did given his limitations as above... Im guessing like McKenzie and also Yazz (different issues i know) but RFC backed themselves in to get the best out of Ben. Unfortunately he has been injured then illness. His body shape from the photos has changes and is looking top notch, i hope the running and extra sessions he took and improve his athleticism as you have pointed out he needs seperation to use his strengths.

Seeing Ben and also Corey Ellis, and Menedue lift this session would be a huge bonus as i think Dan and a few other kids are ready to progress further..

I have said it before that aside from Jack (and Lids before he left) Lennon has the best hands in the lead up marking contest at the club. His only role going forward imo is playing the medium lead up link forward and that requires us to play with 2 key forwards imo.

He has to get very fit and run and present time and time again. If he can get 12-15 possessions a game with his foot skills and nose for a goal he can contribute but he has to work really hard.

He has limitations but where his skills lie he is very talented and he has to learn to play his role and work harder than he has before. Pettifer was much maligned but he kicked 100 goals over a 3 year period and I would be happy for Ben to emulate that in the next 3 years.

Interesting, I wonder if those who relentlessly bagged Kayne for being soft would be so brave to say that to his face.

Is it just me or is there something NQR about this pic, like it's been photoshopped or something.

I'm confused. Is Pettifer still getting hit in the head, just by others? I barely recognise him.

Not a bad comparison, probably a worst case scenario (I'm trying to be positive by the way). If you want my pessimistic view then Brett O'Hanlon is the player who immediately springs to mind, both were outstanding marks as juniors, Lennon probably a better kick but athletically nearly identical.

BOH an excellent comparison.

O'Hanlon a good one, agreed.

My view on Lennon is posted earlier but although he has his limitations he is a far better footballer than Brett O'Hanlon. Does just about everything better than him.

Hasn't shown it through performance yet though ST.
yeah he has. Showed more in the back half of 2015 than O'Hanlon ever did.

Doesn't mean I think he is a star but he is a superior player to O'Hanlon
