Ben Lennon

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Early days in his career but I'm pretty happy we didn't trade our 1St rd pick for McEvoy like some on here seem to reckon we should have.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

He has a lovely perception of depth on a football field with his own kicking and when finding space to lead into. A very underrated skill.

His composure looks good for a mid/forward.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Thought he was brilliant in the 1st and played a big part in setting up the win.

Thought he was average and turned it over a few times after that. Probably fatigue.

The kid is class though. Should play all year.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Lennon is going to be a ripper for the Tigers over a long career.
Great to see a young player with such delightful skills, particularly his foot passing.
Must play every game for the remainder of the season.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Bit of Chad Wingard about him? Maybe after a full preseason.

And, Golly, that is some of the best icing going around.

*smile* yeah. whats a fluffy sponge without it?

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Smooth as a baby's bum in a silk nappy. All class. Serious player in the making.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

He reminds me of Goddard with a tad more speed.
Huge potential to be a big framed midfielder down the track.
Him and Vlastuin could be midfield weapons in a few years with all the attention going to the likes of Dusty and Cotch.
Conca would be a massive beneficiary as well if these 2 become solid mids.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Kids got plenty of quality tools n knows how to use them. Smooth n polished player.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

What I really liked yesterday was that he played wing / forward which is his natural game. Is this a sign that Hardwick may be learning to play players in positions linked to their natural ability rather than having to put them through his defensive mindset apprenticeship in the backline. One can only hope...

I do hope you're correct, MT, because Lennon strikes me as being a natural forward with exceptional kicking skills. Over time, as he builds up his body and gains further AFL experience, he will probably also get occasional turns through the midfield. Could ultimately also fulfill a Lids-type role off half back. But my preference for Lennon would be for him to be groomed and played as a forward, because that's where I think he will cause opposition teams the most problems. Have a sense he could be a 30-40 goals per season player.

Love the Goddard comparison Juff, good call.
