Ben Lennon

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

While a very quiet performance first-up, Lennon will find his feet pretty quickly, particularly if played up forward.
There is so much pressure down back nowadays that most young players struggle to play there straight off.
He will slot in a few games this year and become a regular from 2015, which will be the start of him becoming an important part of the team.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Really looked like a kid out there I thought. Nothing wrong with that, just needs a bit more time. Would have been a great learning experience for the young fella last night. One of the few benefits of these nab games.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

I was underwhelmed by Flossy in a Coburg practise game in March. By June we all loved him.

Still very early days for Lennon

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

yes might need to wait a little while for this one, half a season or perhaps 2015... guess we have been spoilt with ready to go players like Vlas, Ellis, Martin, Conca etc... Hope we play him as a forward, we can work on he's defensive pressure up there, seems Dimma wants to start every lung player of HB....

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Meh, not sure what all the hype was about. Looks like Fiora mark II. That 10 metre pass that went straight over his teammates head was Jacksonesque.

yeah, agree. Looked a bit over awed. He'll be right though. Good skills and already a man's body.

He was a good pick.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Nothing to judge him on tonight... Old cliche but will be better for the run.

Because you always judge a young player on a practice match in February.

A bit early to call him a future Jack Dyer medalist, but flower sniffers will be flower sniffers I guess.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

In the long run, Lennon will prove to be an invaluable part of the best 22 the Tigers put out on the ground each week over the next five to seven years.
He will be there in 2015 when the Tigers give it a serious tilt.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

As much as it would have been good to see Lennon make Round 1 - this year (finally) we have some serious competition for spots with Griffiths, Miles, Lloyd & McDonough all putting in eye-catching performances in the practice games to be in contention - not to mention Knights, Arnott & Petterd all to be thereabouts.
