This is a chance for Demetriou to make himself look good to the AFL fanbase (for a change) by shoving it back in Eddie's face. Scum supporters will whinge but the rest of the AFL will applaud.
I wouldn't mind seeing Eddie on the long term injury list

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

I was wondering why there were so many people online. Now I know why...

Club don't have to make an announcement until the PSD. :)

2 kids or Cuz and a kid ... interesting times...

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

As a more mature age poster, I have a few, but I believe pertinent observations:
1. Morally, we should give people a chance, not 2 or 3 but at least 1. I suggest footy owes him something.
2. For the sake of the person, I suggest that playing footy is part of effective rehab. Being rejected is not positive for the recovery. So there is an element of doing the right think by the person.
3. He took drugs - not an axe murderer. Yes different to grog and pot, but part of the same family of bad things.
4. From a commercial view, there would be massive crowds (= money for the club), and a sponsor would get more exposure than any other in the AFL. As they say, "any publicity is good publicity".
5. If the players are in favour, why not give it a go. If it turns sour, at least we can say that we gave him the chance that so many people say he deserves. No embarrasment in that.
Hope this adds some perspective to the debate.

Yeah you may be right Claw, but how many duds have we recruited in the past? Wasn't last years PSD pick delisted? Whats his name Gourdis :hihi

I just want to see us play finals, enough is enough no more excuses, but like you said it could be the saving grace for old Terry.

Good post.

If nothing else, all this has reinforced what a self serving egotistical pr!ck McGuire is.

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

I'll be upset now if we don't take him!

nhendo is right, he's not an axe murderer. There would be many players who have done the same kind of stuff as Cuz, its just that they are not high profile, or they haven't been caught.

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

Interesting times. Earlier in the year I was against Cousins coming to the club, but I think it is worth a go now.

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

Round 1. 2009.

Cousins V Judd

Who's going? :hihi

Judd who? :hihi

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

I don't want him at RFC, but if the club decides to bring him in then I certainly hope I can look back in a years time and say "Gees, I got that one very very wrong"
