Nothing at all Redders, but do you really think we would go to these great lengths to draft kid + Davis/Yze/Goudis e.t.c.

If we're one player short coz Polak cant play, then yes.

Weren't his quotes along the lines of "we have no plans at this stage of drafting Cousins"?

I always thought he had left the door just a little open.

Though imagine the fun we'd have with our exposure this summer if we did draft Benny.

Huge. Massive. Biggest story in football.

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

In the 'Tigers rule out Cousins' story in the age the quote is

we will be taking 'the best talent not picked up in the national draft'

Who was the best talent not picked up in the ND?
CUZ

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

So, Polak to the rookie list eh?

Excellent, TWO kids in the PSD!

Make it happen Richmond.

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

Maybe we think that Gourdis is a better option than Polak on the senior list and Polak is more suited to the rookie list during his recovery.

The media jump on anything the clubs are saying about their PSD approach and trying to line Cousins up that way. Yesterday, Cousins was headed to Bummerland based on Knights saying "we may draft a mature player".

I'm not anti-Cousins but everything still points to him not being picked up by RFC until the club announce to the contrary.

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

It's on SEN, so it must be true.

Run Benny Run!

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

Any speculation about this can be put to bed. If this gets the AFL Commission approval - then Cousins is a tiger. As old Lou would say "Blind Freddy can see that!". There's simply no other reason to do this.

As for me, I don't like the decision. I think Cousins is too high a risk. But I'm happy to barrack for him and won't be spitting the dummy. There's a strange side of me that's excited about the prospect too.

If this comes off, we have to applaud the RFC for the way this has been handled. No adverse media circus by keeping our nose out of it til the last minute. All (well, mostly) plus side on the announcement. Shrewd, methinks.

Re: Ben Cousins a tiger?

If it's not true this would be a good time for Gary March to come out & categorically say so.

Otherwise we can expect Ben Cousins at Richmond.

Exactly Oldie. And we won't see it. I really hope we know what we're doing.
