Must be something wrong with me, i reckon "imagine" is another shocker
and a bad video as well

When I was younger, there were songs and videos I never liked but somehow grew into them as I got older, so it's just the way you move on in time I suppose.

Yeah in a way Oldie, but there's more to it than that. I'd rather not go on about it because it'll open up further debates. ;D

Yeah Doncaster. You going? We can drink to Inbredford's loss of all credibility.

Considering it, Inbredford's trying to get me to a Devo fan club gathering on the same night.

I think they're into Dungeons and Dragons as well.

Weird bloke that Redford.

Re: Been to a good gig lately? [Merged]

LOL at Dungeons and Dragons. Apparently he wears a 20 sided dice around his neck.

Well it's not as strong as an Oils song but it's a true meaning just like Matchbox 20's current song.

The Doc is as strong as ever jb. You obviously didn't go to the Countdown Spectacular last year where he put on a great performance.

(BTW, you better edit that word 'sond' in your post coz I can see another Redmond tease coming up :hihi )

Doc's Meatloaf impersonation was brilliant!

I thought I was seeing Meatloaf on stage as he even had the scarves.

Shame doc neeson got so John Dalyesque, but he could still belt out a tune.

I was impressed by the female backing vocalist; how that guy from Wa Wa Nee got 2 song is beyond comprehension.

Doc's beefed up, but that's what happens when you get old.

Paul Gray was in the backing team on the synth all night until they decided to make Wa Wa Nee part of the group.

People laugh at their songs but they did well in the US.

Doc also had a truck run up his @rse and was told he may end up in a wheelchair if he continued to play back in 2000.

I don't think it's just old age that's caused his weight fluctuations.

Very keen to see how he's holding up.

Yeah that's right Missy. He's on prescribed drugs which causes that unfortunately.

So. Robert Plant & Alison Krauss.... Where do I start...I'm still on an an emotional musical high since December 10, when I was honored to be in attendance at the Led Zeppelin reunion. I'll try and separate the Zeppelin stuff from the concert.

I really dug Robert's and Alison's new CD. fine chill out music with a great tenderness from both. The concert captured the CDs emotions perfectly. a warmth in their voice. Band were tight and there was great interaction between Alison, Robert & T-Bone Burnett. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. If you have the album Trampled Rose, Through the morning, through the night and Killing the Blues were highlights.

The Zeppelin stuff. A slow but menacing Black Dog, A fine Black country Woman and The Battle for Evermore.. It was obvious throughout the show that Robert wanted to distance himself from future Zeppelin happenings or possibilities, mentioning that this album is a start of a long journey. He has stage presence, and in that regard, dominated the stage over the others. He was clearly having fun/

Who knows on the reunion. It is now clearly obvious that Page, and Jones (and Bonham) are keen, and Page has written and demo'd new material. 50/50 chance on future concerts is my guess. Better odds than 2 years ago.

all in all, if you like the album, you would not have left disappointed.

Great stuff NYT. I didn't get along over here and regretted it - it got great reviews. Plant certainly still has it huh?

Re: Been to a good gig lately? [Merged]

Yes I did manage to sneak along. Best concert I've been to, I was a lucky boy.

I heard a guy telling a story last week about how he missed out on Zep tickets but figured he'd turn up and try and get in anyway. He put on a suit and wandered around the O2 until he noticed a door with minimal security that occasional small groups were being ushered through. He waited for another group to walk up, tacked onto the back and got in with no checks. They all got shown into a lift which took them to the corporate boxes where he tried to look like he belonged and then slipped down and found his way to the floor from where he saw the concert.

Good effort that!

Leonard Cohen is doing a Day on the Green at Rochford Winery on January 24th with special guests Paul Kelly and the Black Eyed Susans.  It will be awesome and I'm very excited. :D
