Beefed-up Tigers (RFC)

Just for my own personal curiosity, what type of drugs was he prescribed, something like Methotrexate?

K3 has he tried glucosamine and/or fish oil. In regards to diet I'd be cutting down things like red meat, tomatoes, potatoes. Plenty of info around on auto-immune problems and diet. Both the MOTH and myself have had good results in improving health problems by these methods. It's a bit of trial and error for everyone. Agree with evo in regard to vegetable juices. I always include fresh herbs such as parsley, comfrey, lemon balm, stinging nettle etc. I prefer to eat fruit whole rather than juice too much. Not so sure about the high sugar content of too much fruit juice and also a lot of wasted fibre from the flesh goes to the chooks.

good advice, rosy especially about fish oil - another excellent antiinflamaroy. Flaxseed oil is a very good substitue if he is vegetarian.

where do you get stinging nettle rosy?

Also in regard to comfrey, I've been growing it in my garden but not sure how to take it safely. Apparently it is a little dangerous if you take too much or too often?

Stinging nettles grow everywhere on our property evo, especially around the shearing shed and on the sheep camps (and in the garden). Tons of the stuff. I think it loves the sheep poop. I only use comfrey leaves, not the roots. I used them as a poultice on my dog recently. The surgeon was planning to fuse her wrist and reconstruct her shoulder but I opted out and said I'll try some more conservative things first. She's no longer considered a surgical candidate. Still a bit lame but doesn't appear to be in pain. She'd be far more lame if they'd operated. I use comfrey as a poultice on myself at times. Good for my patella tendon inflammation. I reckon it's a miracle plant. Have you tried using as a poultice for your tennis elbow?

no. but that's a great idea.

Have you ever tried juicing it or drinking it as a tea though?

Yep I put comfrey in my juice evo, as mentioned in my original comment about it. I love comfrey, parsley, celery and carrot juice. I've never tried straight comfrey juice. Might give it a burl and see if I like it. I've never tried comfrey tea. I'd have no hesitation in doing so but I like my green tea from China. I sometimes put comfrey leaves in salads and frittatas and vegie patties but they need to be pretty finely shredded. They can be a bit tough and hairy to have in big bits.

good to hear it is safe then. sounds like you have quite a lot of it.

I need to get 1 of those extruder juicers so I can start juicing herbs. If you put something like parsley in my centrifugal juicer you get barely any liquid.

That is really interesting Rosy and something I will pass on to my friend, the poultice that is :)

Speaking of tuna(posts a few pages back) I live on that Solemare Tuna Paella.
I don't think it's that good for you but gees I love the stuff.

Tuna with Olive oil, prawns, rice and chilli in a can.

Perfect for when you need a snack.

Gf reckons it's pet food haha.

Pet Food for a Tiger! ;D

Not bragging , I had mail on the bombers last pre season
No one believed me ,
The usual reply I got was "yeah right , not in the AFL "

I was told last year they were on a variety of peptides

GHRP-6 and 2
IGF-1
IGF-LR3
CJC -1295

I'm very curious to see what else they were abusing,
And way more importantly , exactly where they were sourcing these peptides
There are websites in Australia that you can buy them , negates customs having a look at them and confiscating them
I have my suspicions where the bombers shopped for them,

Vital Greens. Helpful or Not?

I am a fan.

Looks promising but I couldn't find a label with ingredients and nutrient breakdown, Any ideas?

I've taken it for 12 months and it got me through the winter with only one slight cold.

It's supposed to be once a day but if I feel rundown I would take another dose around 5pm. With water it tastes pretty ordianry but I mix it with Nudie Breakfast juice and it's fine. Looks terrible but it tastes fine.

Breakdown is here.

wow, that's quite a list. I'll suss it out more closely tommorrow.

(had a few too many beers staving off the heat and enjoying the Essington controversy ;) )
