Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

A benchmark player for the RFC club.

Bachar Houli
(1) Always runs hard to space
(2) Always tries to break the lines
(3) Always lifts his vision to look for team-mates further afield
(4) Always attempts to 'go long' towards the goals
(5) Always gut runs
(6) Always tackles
(7) Never drops his head

All Richmond players should be judged on these traits.

Now you're starting to scare me Scribblar. Two positive posts in a row, can I have some of what you're on? Amazing what a bit of Tiger Victory can do to the mindset.
As for Bash, just killing the negative baggers with footy ability. Cotchin Rance, Deledio, Houli, Jaaack. Put them in any order you like they'll be leading for the JACK medal at seasons end.

Tis true, we have a genuine gut runner.

The highlight for me yesterday was where he was consecutively involved in three passages of play which should have resulted in a goal to Edwards. That hard running support is something that our club has lacked for a long time.

Run Bachar, run. :)

how many times have we heard that? ah shank - the player that almost was.

He had at least two yesterday...in the first quarter with a snap at goal that grubbed along the ground and right at the end where he dribbled one from about 15 metres and kicked a point. Some things never change.

His thread over on Bomberblitz is still getting bumped by the week by bitter fans. If they didn't care then he wouldn't even be discussed.

I have to put my hand up and say Bach is starting to win me over, still not the hardest player going round, but noticed he put his head over the ball a few times against the Eagles and won a few one on one contests, which I was starting to think he couldn't do.

Haven't seen the game against the Swans yet, but by all accounts he continued to improve. I notice Dimma even made a comment in his email, about the improvement in Houli's contested work.

Happy to admit I was wrong if he keeps this up. Well done Bach. Keep putting you head over the ball, that is all any tiger fan would ask.

They're a rare breed over at bomberblitz, while I may be told off for discussing another forum (again)....I've also kept an eye on that thread, bitter twisted individuals, we all have our 1 eye and feral moments, comments etc, but those blokes people inbreds take the cake.

Very nice game from Houli on the weekend, yes i am giving him kudos, which is deserved.

I am not in his fan club and i have reservations bout some areas of his game, but he did put in a good one on the weekend, even showed increased physical intent which is my biggest slight against him.

Im not on his bandwagon by any means but i will give hime his kudos for a good game.

Cmon Craig, he has had a very solid year. And don't forget we got him for nothing.

Great get by Hartley. Everything we didn't have. We still need three more of his type.

Yep couldnt have asked for more, very happy to see him play well when we have struggled as looks like he could be very good when he has a lot of support

I admit, I thought he was a downhill skier. But his best games have been when things aren't going well.

In a good side, would be a even better player. I will go out on a limb and say in current form, he gets a game in almost every side.

Disagree a team needs three of him - would take too much away from the defensive side of the team as a whole. (unless the defensive side of his game keps improving then we could have a couple more :))

But his running to space is the best in the club bar none and his kicking is pretty bloody good, bordering on elite. It was good to see Batchelor running off his opponent on the weekend too.

Reckon we can see the makings of a potentially solid defence with some dash and flair. Rance/Post/Grimes/Batchelor/Deledio/Newman/Houli/Dea/Thursfield all rotating through. Astbury a backup KD at this stage.

Too many commenting on that Houli isn't hard enough, he played the complete game on the weekend, ran, received, kicked well and most importantly gave his team mates always an option.
He is never going to be Luke Hodge or Luke Ball, but he can play an effective roll in our side.
He has been a great pick up.

Was good on the weekend, but gee how anyone could think he or the chimp played a better game than Lids on the weekend needs to have a look at the replay. Bruce made plenty of mistakes in his touches. The best thing about his game was the fact that he did some of the hard things he isn't known for. Good defensive work, courage and tackling shown by the beard on Sunday.

I am surprised by the lack of praise for Houli for sacrificing his game to keep Davey almost kickless until half time. Great effort by Houli!

Didn't get his usual 20+ touches and his run but did extremely well in keeping Davey to one kick in the first half.
