Would have thought fasting could potentially have a dramatic effect on an elite athlete. At the very least it will be interesting to see if it does affect performance or to learn about what is done to counteract the lack of energy production.

Exactly!

Never seemed to have much of an impact on Hakeem Olajuwon in the NBA. He seemed to deal with it OK. Yes, I know you don't run as much in the basketball as in footy, but the do play more frequently.

Why would i be? I've been successfully ignoring this mumbo jumbo for 40 years. Wouldn't have a clue and quite frankly don't want to. What does it mean for his PLAY?

Sorry TTT - but I am fascinated by what your definition of "successfully" is :hihi

Is "mumbo jumbo" code for "education"?

That you make comment without understanding is sadly reflective of the modern voting electorate.

Tell you what.

Use the search engine - look up "fasting" - and perhaps consider why it might impact Houli's "PLAY" (assuming that he respects the Ramadan requirements)

A first for AFL footy though, yes? Just think it might be a learning experience for the club, and undoubtedly for many of us.

He played at Essendon before this though, I'd be fairly sure there's some experience out there with what to do. Not exactly like this august will be ground breaking.

Absolutely loving this pick up, Houli is our new Leon Cameron link man and gets better with every game. Fast becoming someone I WANT to see with the ball because he uses it so well.

We noticed him Jib a contest once tonight, which resulted in a Lions goal,

but he is a beauty. kicking was awesome.

Very good this last month. is a good asset to the team.

if you are a elite athlete or cannot observe ramadan for some reason , you can get permission from the head of the church to not having to obse ramadan , basher has been doing this all the time he was at the bombers and i am sure he wil do it for us now also

2nd time I have heard the Leon Cameron comparison today.

Phar ace, said exactly the same to me earlier.

I think their kicking action is almost the same as well ;)

Inspired recruiting to get him. Rarely wastes a possession. Has had a super month of football
