Congrats Bachar, a fine achievement for a fine season. Definitely Essendon's best gift to us and it still keeps on giving

James Hird pushed Bachar out the door because he didn't think he was the type of player who would stand up in finals. It was portrayed at the time as Hird having lunch with Houli and trying to talk him out of leaving.

During the grand final, I said it might be great if Hird had to present the Norm Smith to Bachar for that reason.

I always thought kick-outs from behinds didn't count as a kick to the player's stats.
Yeh, his confidence levels are at an all-time high I reckon. He's been much better at the physical stuff than he's ever been, it's a credit to his mental strength. Ellis & Short could take a leaf out of his book, Bachar was once a pretty timid player. No more.
