Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

Our overall efficiency is improving because Bachar is getting less of it.

Noticed he only had one inside 50 and that is a plus for us. The change in game plan away from just handballing from a mark to a Houli or Martin sweeping with no target identified to assessing our options is working a treat.

Bachar has played more within his limitations and again that works to our advantage because his usual run gun and kick it anywhere plays have diminished.

Bachar will always cost us in pressure situations but at least the damage he causes us with the ball is lessened.

He is actually very good in the air for a small and if he can tidy up his rabbit in the headlights moments he might hold his spot short term.

Well he has had his spot long term so I'm pretty sure his positives outweigh the negatives. I can't see that changing short term ie the next 10 rounds

I'm pretty sure they dont.

Sooner or later Dimma will have to realise we cant carry him or Morris forever.

Lumping Houli with Morris is like lumping Beanie with Loundet

Rubbish, he has been great this year and a couple of bad games (if you want to call them that, which I don't) do not warrant a drop to the reserves for can experienced player. Btw, who would be the obvious replacement? Lennon? Hasn't been setting the world on fire. Just like with steve Morris, when a player begins banging down the door in the vfl, and puts pressure on the senior team, they may force their way into the side. I don't think it would be at the expense of houli though.

Tries hard. Not very good though.
Please observe Mr Houli carfefully to also come to the above conclusion.
Said my bit. Good day :blah

100%. Houli has his off games but when he's at his best he's one of the better running defenders going around. I have no problems with Houli being a regular in the tigers line up. There are far worse going around at other teams.

If you're going to imply I'm a chronic Bachar basher, please cite supporting evidence. I asked rimau35 to do this re: White and he vanished like Essendon's records.

I take great offence to that.

Only three things throughout all of history have vanished like Essendon's records. These were, in no particular order, Gina Rinehart's empathy with the common man, Dannii Minogue's acting acumen and my auntie's veal schnitzels at a 21st.

Dannii Minogue had acting acumen?

Are you asking Dimma to realise it (carrying Houli) or are you just hoping he does?

A player with limitations! Cant all be lingy or poppie or rance, oh wait they are dud's as well.

What a discrace, only at the RFC! No wonder we have been so bad for so long!

Sack everyone!

Maybe with the growth growing longer it is impeding his balance thus just losing that vital second in the reaction making decision.

Far from his best game but he still contributed. Made a few blues, did some good things. He's been a consistent player for us for a long time, won't be dropped and nor should he.

Pretty clear from Thompson commentary earlier in year, Houli is one of the guys Ess focus on shutting down against Rich.

Most teams are aware of his importance and ball distribution for richmond and how vital he is to our drive through half back,We really need another player to be able to do that on the opposite flank to improve our predictability. Yarran would be ideal

Don't blame them. He makes them look stupid for giving him away for nothing, everytime he plays well. And Bummer supporters are not that bright so as long as they keep him quiet in both games we play them they will think he is a dud.

That is just so true

I think Bachar's been ok this year. Not much more than that. He holds his place.
Matt Dea is next in line right now, that pretty much tells me why there's not a lot of pressure on his spot.
