Assistant Coach Wish List

i hate this emotive myth about the coaches having to be so-called 'richmond people.'

load of crap

one measure of a well coached club is that other teams are circling around to poach our assistant coaches.

how many assistant coaches have we lost in the last 10 years to other clubs? ??? ??? ??? ???

we neeed assistant coaches at this club of the highest caliber. terry should not be involved in the selection of any new assistant coaches as his selections over the last 4 years have not proved to be outstanding.

Voss is a total nob and will never coach at AFL level.
He will be found out in his assistant role with the weagles as totally *smile*.
Was a great fooballer but has not got the brains for a coaching role.

It's a wish list isn't it? ;)

He'd be my number one preference, well above any others.

Short and simple, fast and brutal. Interested to see who is willing to put their views out there.

If you were forced to name a Top 3, No:1 being your preferred pick, what 3 Assistants would you be happy to see at Punt Rd next year?

The only condition is you have to see a realistic possibility of it happening, even if ever so slim. (Personally I don't think Buckley is realistic, others might though)

Make a wish ToO and the Genie (Devil?) will usually have some twist to it, you should have read the fine print :p

Chris Grant and David Neitz would be good for the talls played both ends.

Nigel Lappin straight out of game and Richmond supporter.

Wakelin ?

Kane Johnson ?

Good coaches are usually not anywhere near the best as players but tend to come from successful clubs who have won premierships, they know what it takes and how much hard work has to be put in to get there, there is a general want in them to always go further, not trying to be a prick but you don't see too many if any successful coaches or assistants come out of clubs like St Kilda or Western Bulldogs and dare I say it Richmond, in time with success that might change, but it seems to be the general pattern!

Rory Hilton

Steven Sziller

has to be a Richmond person but with experience with another club :p
How about David Cloke then?? He could be player advocate at all our tribunal appearances wearing a Mike's Hard Lemonade polo shirt like he did for his boy in the finals a few years back! ;D

Well this then begs the question of... is he still producing offspring to make it all worthwhile? ;D

1. Campbell (favourite son of the club. Would be welcomed home with open arms and has learned a lot under Eade)
2. Hardwick
3. Bond (Another 'Richmond Person')

I know I said Richmond Peson, but Campbell and Bond would be good assistant coaches. Both have had good apprenticing under different coaches so they would have lots of different ideas to bring to the table.
