Andrew 'Mini' McQualter

I'd like to see Cumbo in ... at least as sub for two reasons: he is a true forward (unlike others we are trying to turn into forwards although Mansell is far from hopeless) and I believe at this stage, he is a real burst player, like a lot of forward flankers in their early days. Clark is also a flanker who will bob up in flashes, but Cumbo is a bigger, stronger and more explosive unit. He can kick those break-through goals from sheer aggression - a bit like Dusty - whereas Clark is always going to be more of an outside player IMO.

Still not seeing Sonz as making enough impact at senior level. He has his fans but really not convinced the hype is justified as yet. The Young selection was obviously made due to Vlastuin's injury issue - now justified as he's out. And suspect Miller will play forward to support JR8 from the constant outnumbering by a gang of tall back spoilers.
We don’t know what was said to these two. Remember their last senior games were stinkers .
I would like to see both of them in the senior team going forward along with Banks who I would have picked instead of McIntosh this week

As long as we keep it between our four walls, and pay no attention to any outside noise!
We look forward to the challenge, it’s a great opportunity. We are privileged to play this great game.

Speaks very well. Disappointed there was no “formidable opposition” “fact of the matter is” or “we know where we are, but more importantly we know where we need to be” references in there.
Very disappointed that there was no ‘player x is an incredible player’ mentioned.

Free hit out for Mini with zero expectations. I want to see what he has with his match day tactics and his relationship with the players. Who knows, the players could rise to the occasion or everything goes pear-shaped and we start from scratch again. We have been here before, but as a club we now know how to climb that mountain.

players collective mentality will be fascinating.

head coach of 13 years basically said "we're done" and faarked orff

and mini doesn't have a first round draft pick to soothe himself with

tough gig

Actually, he said 'I'm done'.

Dimma's been cooked mentally for a couple of years. After a marriage break up, hubs, 3 flags, rule changes, who wouldn't be? The great man is just a human. It's all just caught up with him.

New ideas and enthusiasm is exactly what we needed.

Bring on finals!

He’s been at Richmond since 2014.
Are they tired of his messaging before he even gets going?
A fresh voice and eyes may have an advantage over same same.
Is he the Luke Meehan of coaching?
No. I spoke to a few players at a function this week. To a man they said they absolutely love him and that they can’t wait to play for him. They also said he is ready to coach.

lol, no.

you are naive if you think Dimma would bail whilst also believing we can still reach finals

he said "I'm done" but he SAID "we're done"

patently obvious.

What do you expect from a private school kid?

Jack Dyer would be rolling in his grave knowing a Caulfield Grammer lad was coaching our working class club.

Yes. The idea that Dimma selfishly bails just because we can't make finals shows a complete misunderstanding of everything the man's been about for the last decade.

He didn't say "we're done" & he certainly didn't imply that we couldn't make it to the finals.

I have no doubt that the players knew Dimma was cooked before he did. It's always like that in any job from my experience.

I think he probably believed that we couldn't perform at our best given what he was mentally and spiritually able to offer.

I don't think he bailed thinking we can still make finals under him. I think he moved aside to give someone else the chance to get us there.

Interested to see if Mini brings his own ideas game plan wise and changes personal in our side big watch for me.

why on earth would he openly say any of that in a press conference?

he left because his kingsguard players are over the hill and I don't blame him.

Pretty sure Dimma said this group can still play finals.
