A former Tiger who was with the club for ages....cut from our playing list and now finds himself one game from the holy grail, an AFL premiership.

Strange there has not been much goodwill on PRE.

Myself, I am ambivalent to his dream day. Hate the Pies with a passion so mayb that has something to do with lack of compassion for a dumped ztiger done good.

Also, mayb wasted our time and his talent due to lack of effort and intensity in the yellow and black for all this years.

he's an icing on the cake player. was always gonna be good at the pies who have all positions covered. he was with us when we had no foundation and the house was falling apart all around. hopefully we can build the foundations properly and find another krakour in the near future

When it comes to ex-players, "neutral" is about as good as you're going to get. Can't remember feeling any extra enthusiasm or goodwill towards Ottens, Thiessen, Wilson or Wood because they once played for us.

Interesting to know how many of those players were actually delisted by us. I am tipping AK as the first delisted Tiger to return and win a flag with another club.

Theissen was cut, went back to the SANFL and was a mature-age recruit for the Crows.

Krakouer struggled with us because he is a burst player with no stamina. We got frustrated that he drifted in and out of games and couldn't spend more than 5 minutes in the midfield. We lost patience.

Since then interchange rotations have gone through the roof.

Now he is succeeding for them for the same reasons he failed for us. Being a burst player who plays 5 minutes at a time.

Krak hasnt had a kick for about 2 months but has somehow escaped the chop.

In saying that though wouldnt be surprised if he kicked 3 or 4 tomorrow, he loves it on a wet MCG.

Every time I've seen him play this year I've thought gee nothings changed.

Wouldn't get a touch if he played for us. Lucked out getting picked up by the Pies. Hope he does well tomorrow.

I remember a wet day at the G against the pies, he was clean and snagged goals from every corner of the ground.
Got a feeling that tommorow will a day the cats won't be able to stop him.

Like 'LeeToRainesToRoach' expressed, I don't care for ex-players of our club who then go on to play for other teams.

What makes me angry is that it takes great teams around players like Ottens and Krakoeur to perform.
They rarely blizted for us with any consistency.
(Imagine if St.Kilda won a flag while carrying Polo?.....FFS) :duh Now that would be unbearable!

Downhill Skiers.

He's kicked 7 goals in the last 3 games before Hawthorn game and in final against West Coast had 21 possessions so wouldn't say he hasn't had a kick. Had a poor game against Hawthorn but wasn't on his lonesome.

Weather forecast says only isolated showers in the afternoon so maybe it won't be as wet as we think.

Norm Smith in a losing side to be a highlight of what will hopefully end up a no more than 201 game AFL career.

Geez and they still b!tch about us picking over their carcass... :eek:ld

I've spent some serious time over the last few days trying to get in touch with my feelings on this one to the point where I'm thinking of giving Dr. Phil a call. I can say unashamedly that come 6pm this evening I really hope Andrew Krakouer's not a premiership player (for obvious reasons). What's bugging me is I'm really not sure if I'd want to see him play in a premiership or not anyway. Is that wrong?

I'd say I started the year with a pretty indifferent "yeah whatever good luck to him" attitude. Then as each week went by and the whole "fairytale story" thing got shoved down our throats more and more it started to grate on me (it probably also had something to do with the fact that I'd seen him as a Collingwood player for one more week). Then I read this in one of the Hun's many, many stories about him this week (link is at the bottom)...

Not only did it [jail] steel him [Krakouer] for redemption, [Greg] Miller said, it gave him motivation to find the fitness that eluded him in 102 games at Richmond.

I know a lot of younger players struggle with with what's required and maybe don't fully appreciate the opportunity they have till they get a bit older. I also know it's not his fault we were paying him $250k a year. And yes if he were playing for Geelong against Collingwood tomorrow it probably wouldn't have bothered me that much. Still I read that as a Richmond supporter and it's fair to say it doesn't exactly warm my heart the way I think it was supposed to.

You couldn't put Bryan Wood in that category--a true champion-many rated him Keith Greigs equal--followed his career (slowly in decline) at Essendon-and was wrapped to see him win another flag( with Sheeds) at Essendon!!

Strange there has not been much goodwill on PRE.

Krak was a much maligned player on PRE. Some used to say he was good at tackling and that was it. Others said his tackle count proved he was always second to the ball. I felt like a bit of alone hand defending him at times.

I hope his personal life is back on track but he's a Pie now. :sleeping

He's played in a team that's pretty much dominated the competition all year, he's been carried most of the way, still don't think he's worth his spot and will get found out badly today, nowhere to hide grand final day, wouldn't have made it in any other team!
