Andrew Dillion the new AFL CEO

Agree. How are the fans of 4 Vic teams going to get to another state to watch this bs??
Excellent question the AFL don’t care about supporters they just want to sell the 2 games to the highest bidder
It’s all about more money

A lady called SEN today to remind how unfair any team missing the 8 is if they make finals (i.e. our loss to Cartoon in 2013's EF instead of playing the Druggies). Because this season's evened out with ~ 12 teams able to make finals, the deluded morons working at this Gestapo go into daydreams.

With the great man’s exit, so too, I will follow suit, i have lost faith in this game and governance, who have ruined a joy of my life, the last of the mohechin’s

I always said I am done when Dusty retires or moves (thank *smile* that didn't happen), but I said the same thing when Richo was playing.

I don't like it either.

But it's going to be a money spinner and whether we like it or not, a sudden death one off match to make the finals is something most of the AFL ecosystem will watch.

“A bit more support than previously”

Weasel translation: Last time one person liked the idea, this time I thought I heard someone else say it might be a good idea.

Whatever Dillon, collect your shekels and continue your predecessors’ march toward football desolation .

Mrs. Quickdraw and I are half way through a "Half Lap" in the caravan. We've had good connectivity almost everywhere (thanks Elon Musk).

We've barely watched any football, nor have I kept up with much of the "meedja" and their contrived rubbish. Only found out about the great man retiring through a mate mentioning it over the phone. Hardly logged into PRE either.

I have to say I'm not missing footy. I miss what footy used to be, not the current rubbish.

I'm sure some of my malaise is due to the fall of our beloved club, but there is a more to it than that. Can't help feeling it's buggered.

Tomorrow we're on a fishing charter out of Exmouth!

Dillon saying that this Rd 24 Super Sunday scheduling where none of the 3 games (12.30, 3.20 & 6.10) creep into another game is a sign of future scheduling. I like this. Will involve some new timeslots (eg Sunday night and more Thursday night games, maybe even Monday night football!) and changes to traditional start times ie later games, especially from Perth)

ground breaking

Ch 7: Hey, why'd you stop Thursday night games?
Dill: Give us more money
Ch 7: Give us wildcard round
Dill: There's increased support for wildcard round

You can't have wildcard for just a 1 division league with just 18 teams. This is better in US sports who have more than 24 teams and conferences. The excitement is and has always been there at end of season to see who makes the top 5, 6 and nowadays 8. We don't need this 'excitement' to see who wins the final spot for wildcard playoffs.

Oh Dillon…how do you go from running a tiny legal department to the CEO spot….seems like a nice bloke but…

Isnt it just a final 10, we 7-10 playing elimination finals week 1 and the top 6 getting a rest?
