BTW leysy, great tip on next that Newcastle soccer coach, he's out to $100 after trading as high as $200!

Evo, apparently Daniher said the Dees weren't having a fair dinkum crack at the NAB, perhaps that is why the odds discrepancy.

The way to go in the NAB may be to just back the outsider in every game. You get 4 from 8 you will be in front and you might need only 3.

Yeah i read that jimbob.Even so, dees are pretty good quality outfit,3.80 too tasty to ignore

agree with you re outsiders.thats my game plan.

evo i hope u read this article http://melbournefc.com.au/default.asp?pg=news&spg=display&articleid=246992

"Melbourne's improved financial position has taken the pressure off the team to be up and running for the pre-season competition, according to coach Neale Daniher who will instead use this year's NAB Cup as a chance to experiment."

"We are not in a situation now where, from a club point of view, we need to be setting ourselves to win the pre-season competition."

me thinks financial position has a lot to do with how clubs will preform in the NAB cup (as does media exposure and next game ponderings). Thats why i predict wb, kanga and bombers to preform

Ahhh yes JB, I owe you a pint when we meet next for that one.....soz mate. :-[ :'(

O'Neill is into $2.40, though if he knocks the job back the market will take some turns again.

I read that impact, cheers.i don't disagree with you, just think Dogs are way too short, ilike value at this stage of the season.

is leysy going to the footy tommorrow?

is there much difference between betfair and tab??? im thinking of getting an account with betfair but u have to send in all account id and im not a big fan

Betfair is an essential weapon in the betting mans arsenal.Do the deed or be damned.

Go with it impact. Little bit of fuss early but once your in your in. Changed my punting forever (I lose twice as much now!). The more players on Betfair the better as it needs greater liquidity. You also need a bit of patience to get the odds you want. It is heaps of fun regardless, especially when trying to play bookie.

Sorry if this has been discussed (I can't be bothered reading the last few pages), but is everyone loading up on Melbourne and the Bulldogs to make the 8?

i'm with the boys here as well Impact...betfair is your best mate if you enjoy a punt on well almost anything.

I mean I've even heard of people throwing $$$$$$ on absurd things such as who'll be the next mgr of an english premier league team ;D

:clap :clap 2 from 2 so far, Dees at $3.80 and Lions at $2.20. Both of them drifted further after I put my bets on too.

onya jimbob.nailbiting stuff.Good start to the season.

certainly was, probably only one way it can head now. Will have to shelve my plans to lay the dogs at short odds and back them later.

The're ordinary.Control Johnson and you have a good chance of beating them.

Giving Grant another season is a joke.

Gilbee injury didn't look good.

well done on the wins there!! my only bet on nab is gooooone with bullies dyin out i was at lions v dons match tonight gezzz dons for spoon wouldnt be a bad bet take away fletcher and kepler and they would have lost by 5 goals to an average lions outfit....going on that match and looking at the players and their preformances, neither will pose a threat in 06!! (and dont critisize me and say its just pre-season ra ra) they had key players out yes, but it was a joke how bad both teams played turn over after turn over no run, scrappers delight...brisbane has 1 youngster that will make it and 1 other that might otherwise they are shocking.... i might save my money and put it on races in the coming weeks :p

impacts

I certainly wont  bag you impact in relation to pre seaon games.I take pre season form pretty seriously too.All input is valuable.I made a fair bit of money early last season after watching The Richmond/Brisbane practice match.Brisbane  looked very flat and it was obvious they'd get off to a slow start and potentially struggle all season. Most were predicting top 4  for them.

Agree with you re fletcher. He absolutely kept them in the game.I reckon Essendon have some serious problems, happy days.

If I were a Melbourne supporter I'd be pretty happy tonight. They were missing some serious talent and still managed to grind out a win against an almost full strength Dogs.
