Adem Yze

One thing was reinforced during this mornings presser.
Brendan Gale is the best in the business. Bar none.
So composed, controls the narrative, articulate and authoritative.
Superstar
You can see why he never stood a chance getting a job at AFL House. He would’ve embarrassed all past and present employees with his professionalism and business acumen.

Best they keep promoting from within the AFL’s boys club

Have suspected this all along and have said so on this site ; but after listening to Benny now I have no doubt , dimma was nudged out the door

Interesting
100% agree . I think the blow torch was starting to be applied.... the medical room was sub-par for an elite sporting team.

Saw most of the press conference. Did they say how long .. I am calling him Easy at the moment,.. has been contracted for?

I got the feeling from the presser that he's keen to get started.

Great to see the optimism here, I think Yze has as good a chance as any to be a very good coach for us. Also good to see him get the chance.

The club clearly stated we were looking for a new coach who had been an assistant elsewhere and that is precisely the path we have taken.

We've made our choice, no guarantees, but Yze clearly has the experience to be a very good coach and I'm optimistic he will do a good job.

The next chapter begins.

Ooze is thinking about jumping on a plane to head to Thailand.
To meet the players.
He's keen as Mustard.
Not quite Southern Italy but not bad.
Might even eat a scorpion on a stick n get a massage while he's over there, make it a proper pre season bonding session with the boys.

I have posted a few times about the process but the thing I liked about it was that we didn't bow to any pressure. This is how the club rolls now, it does what it needs to do and ignores outside noise. In this case there were a couple of influences on the decision that were just ignored
The first was agitation from supporters about the time it was taking, we saw plenty of it on here. We now have a coach, trade period and draft hasn't started and he has plenty of time to assemble his team and prepare for the pre season.
The second was making the easy choice. If Newman was picked we would all have been delighted, our ex skipper who played 250 games+ and is a very popular Tiger person. McQualter was the easy choice with the players and was the assumption being made by a lot of media. We picked the best coach available, stick to the process.
Whether Yze is a successful Richmond coach or not cannot be known at this point in time but to me it is just further evidence that our club is incredibly well run. The acknowledgement that we need change is a sign of a mature administration. It is one thing for some supporters to say it but actually doing it was not an easy thing.

Benny Gale must never leave RFC, chain him to his desk

I wasn't sure about him until I saw his press conference. Now I'm "all in".
I feel very confident we have the right man. You could see the look on Benny Gales face he looked like a proud father.

I’m in the same boat. I shouldn’t be surprised though.. with Gale and co at the helm I should’ve known better.

There were no dear in the headlights moments from Yze. In fact quite the opposite. Saw him on more than one occasion straighten the spine and square his shoulders. He doesn’t strike me as someone who is easily intimidated but someone who backs his judgment and is up for a fight.

I can’t help but like him and think he just might be here for a long time. I think we might have some difficult times ahead but it looks like Yze is up for it.
