Adem Yze

He has a power of work to do.

Watching the current finals series makes me feel like we have have really fallen off the pace quite a bit.

Is that because we’re just not good enough anymore? Aging players and young players aren’t that good?

was it an outdated game plan?

Or Was it coach related?

Time will tell I guess

Looking at the finals series most of these teams are average. Pies kick 8 and 9 goals to make the granny lol. Dees and port out in straight sets.
Blues average against swans and dees but somehow get up.

For us I'd say pressure and game plan not really personal well we also lost lynch which is massive and played underperformers which is a coaching issue.

His first task is work on the basics which we aren't doing right. That's skills , kicking , transition , discipline and pressure.

Melbourne outplayed both Collingwood and Carlton and if it wasn't for their poor goal kicking should be in the GF. It also didn't help that Petty, Melkshan and Harmes were injured from their fwd line, JVR was suspended and Fritsch just came back from injury. Not bad effort by Yze who was sitting in the driver's seat.

Collingwood finished 17th in 2021 when at the end of that year McCrae was appointed. Most experts and even their supporters were thinking they were in for some lean years.

They of course had those salary cap issues as well.

What happens in 2022? They finish top 4!!

Same with GWS last year. They finished 16th.

Reckon it can be turned around pretty quickly and why couldn't such a well run club like ours do it?

It was one thing only! Jackson. they should of fought tooth and nail for him.. would be sitting close to 2 premierships.

Agree. We have enough quality senior players to turn things around quickly.

Don't forget we were a FARCed decision away from knocking off Brisbane at home in last year's final.

The more I hear him talk the more excited I become. I think we might have unearthed a gem. I certainly hope so.

Dimma took a while to settle in, whereas Ooze seems like he's been with us for a while.

There is a saying- if you want to remain No1, act like you’re No2. I feel we got way too complacent and it started with the rubbish preseason and went from there. Dimma was still wedded to his game plan and his senior players that delivered the premierships. From a personal POV I can see how he stuck fat with both but there is no place for this kind of emotion in a cut throat industry like AFL.
I just hope the Yze challenges the entire group to lift in all aspects.

I've been remembering that photo showing Dimma's back at the college football stadium where he was in think mode. He wasn't planning our future, he was planning his.

As soon as Dimma decided Cotch was the answer to our forward line preseason ahead of Cumberland I knew he was cooked. Just a terrible move after Noah's 2022.
Then to tee off on him at that press conference after he'd finally come into the team & kicked 3 goals? Was very uncharacteristic for a coach who'd almost always defended his players. Not to mention having a crack at a youngster.
Fingers crossed Yze can rebuild Cumberland's confidence.
