Adem Yze

I wonder if he followed George Constanza's lead and did the opposite during the job interview.

Very good apprenticeship as many saying. Hopefully he is a better game day tactician than Hardwick.

imo the key to future success will be his assistants, their individual responsibility and messaging will be paramount.

Hardwick walked away from the opportunity to rebuild for another crack already having a residual of premiership players on the list.

As much as I dislike Sheedy he built 3 different premiership teams over 3 different decades using the residual approach.

Adem inherits a list not quite so bad as many here suggest imo. He now gets an incredible chance with a playing group that has tasted success.

All my interest now turns to his appointment of assistants.

btw I will be intrigued how his relationship with Neil Balme develops.
I thought Hardwick benefitted immensely by Balme coming on board.

Exciting appointment and exciting times.

The last couple of seasons have been hard to sit through to be honest. Like watching a fading supernova. Players past their prime going through the motions.

Footy department needed a massive shake up and will now get it. I hope Grimes is discouraged from going round again.

What matters in the next three years is Yze’s relationship with his new captain - Dustin Martin.

If he can surround our superstar with a framework of skill, hardness and precision, the rebuild / refresh need not be painful.

Happy with Yze , though we won’t know for about 3 years if hes the right fit for us , so many variables that can happen in a football club.

Glad we did go from outside the club, those loses against Dogs and Saints gave me great concern that Mini wasn’t what we needed.

Again be Intresting over the next month to see what direction Ooooooze is taking the list .

One thing we really need to look at quickly is the Rucks , I think we’d be better of letting Nank go then Soldo

Wondering whether Yze will have a chat with Brett Ratten about a possible assistant's role given they worked together at Hawthorn.
In the end, hope the new coach clears the decks and brings some fresh voices along with him.

I would breathe a sigh of relief if I knew we weren’t planning on Nank being in the centre square Round 1 against the Blues.

it would be nice to see Dusty lead the team as Captain, especially onto the ground for his 300 th.

A change of captaincy from the co. concept very necessary imo.

I think this is a good appointment. We have quite a few players who probably need to re-prove themselves to new eyes on the coaching team.
Interesting to see if Yze considers returning Daniel to our forward line too.
We need his skill but why send him back to a role where he wasn’t doing well, (when he left).
If he is to move it should be to the midfield where we are so horribly slow.

Melbourne is the one team that’s really had it over us the past few seasons. Now obviously Yze is only a small part of that (not to mention the SHocking rule changes) but what’s been clear is that regardless of personnel, they developed strategies to counter our footy departments best laid plans. Despite our success they saw & found weaknesses in how we played.

Going to be very interesting & refreshing to see what direction Adem takes this group in.

Welcome aboard Adem.
I too hope he blows the dual Captain theory to smithereens!
Didn't work.
Also makes the club look indecisive imo.
Was out yesterday so is there going to be a presser today?

Looking forward to our first pre season training reports .... I'm unaware of both your heritage and linguistic capabilities @caesar ..... but this may be of assistance as we begin our new era🙂

He and Balme already have a relationship. He was Adem’s coach at Melbourne. Hopefully they liked and respected each other.

Looking forward to hearing him speak. Assume there will be a presser tomorrow?

I'm hoping he's asked:

What he thinks of the playing list and where he sees improvement
What game style he will look to implement
Whether any new assistants will come
Plans for leadership and captaincy in particular
What is his preferred way to cook a sausage
The last point is ‘pivotal BrissieT!

This is what May have got him over the line. 😂
Mini couldn’t find another way to cook them for Dimma. 😉😉😉😉
