I really want us to draft Cooper Hynes. Just like Lalor, a power mid-forward. Imagine getting both the Stingrays captains - Langford & Hynes...and they both support the Tiges. Come on Blair make it happen.
Are we talking jack WhitlockIf we still have pick 10 then that’s when I think we might strike.
Why would they do that? No different to getting injured and not being able to play the GF. Outside elite level, the AFL have increased mandatory break to 21 days. I believe they'll eventually change top level too.Wait till the day a player misses a GF because of concussion.
Then the afl will act and have the finals bye between the prelim and GF instead of after the H & A.
my point was he would've been #1 pick had the Crows not placed a bid on JUH, not a knock on his football abilityReckon we all will this time next year toothless, imho will be in the conversation for best key forward going around
AFL won't change to 21 days because of the access players have to club doctors who can keep eye on said player because they're at the club most days. Why would they do that? No different to getting injured and not being able to play the GF. Outside elite level, the AFL have increased mandatory break to 21 days. I believe they'll eventually change top level too.
Berry. But we have back to back picks so options wide open. Are we talking jack Whitlock
Honestly we should just take the 2 who have been consistent throughout the year.I don't think we will, but I would take Jagga at one. He has got club captain and starting centre square mid for the next fifteen years written all over him.
He’s still updating it daily and has us possibly taking Similie at 7.
Pick 12 can't be rightHe’s still updating it daily and has us possibly taking Similie at 7.
I dont understand why Reid is not considered equal to the top 6 touted midfielders. His stats are as good as almost all of them (Jagga aside) and is very clean by hand and foot. He is a player that has very very good footy smarts. Puts players into space. I also hope we get him.Am a fan of M. Reid...a new Sheds/ Prestia type.
Really hope we get him.
Pick 12 can't be right
Broad would have missed ‘19 if he’d done what he did against the Cats in any other year. Why would they do that? No different to getting injured and not being able to play the GF. Outside elite level, the AFL have increased mandatory break to 21 days. I believe they'll eventually change top level too.
I think it will change personally. There's already been a lot of pressure from experts claiming 12 days is not enough. 4 weeks is the recommended by a leading neurologist dealing with CTE contributed to by impact sports. The 21 days for the rest of the league is a precursor to what will eventual happen. The purpose of break before finals is to allow players to freshen up after a gruelling season (this affects 8 teams) . I can't see them them changing this to before GF and certainly not for the sake of concussions (which was your premise in your original email). Concussion is an injury. It's bruising or swelling of the brain. Hard to take, sure, just like any other injury.AFL won't change to 21 days because of the access players have to club doctors who can keep eye on said player because they're at the club most days.
The bye?
I've always had an issue with it being straight after the H&A season. Its should be instead between the prelim & GF to give both GF sides a week to be freshin up.More chance of being a better spectacle.Yes players have missed gfs through injury but due to concussion would be hard to take.Imagine if Dusty got concussed.
I don’t know how good Dodson is but imo if he is as good as some say he is this is exactly the situation for us to grab him.I reckon taking you shouldn’t take ruckman in the draft. Take to long to develop. By the time they are ready they could request a trade. Better of grabbing a ready made battler.
I’ve see Marshall live 3 times. An absolute gun. I’m hoping tigers bid on Ashcroft at 1 and then Marshall early also. Put Brisbane in a position where they go into quite considerable draft deficit. They may pass and I’d be stoked to get him. Elite endurance. When played midfield high possession, good skills and footy IQ. Has not been talked about because likely headed to Brisbane. Been Hidden at HB at Sandy Dragons. Would not surprise me if he turns out the top of this draft. Looks similar in style to Ashcroft, slightly taller and I think quicker. Nice mover. What are your thoughts on Sam Marshall, Bully. I have only seen tapes but he looks to me he like will become top shelf. Go home might become an issue but he has lived in Melb for the last two yrs of his schooling. (How did he get on an academy list. Is it simply because RL is a major interest to the young men of Qld)?
Could see us bidding successfully for him at 10 or 11, along with Allan, with Brisbane facing a 7-800 pt deficit, (following a 2400 pt spend on Ashcroft), if it decided to challenge?
I think he's just got those 2 club indicators round the wrong way, its Melbourne at 11 for Armstrong, and Kako at 12 to the Bummers. And he reckons Melbourne would let the bumbers into the top 10 - really - when Melbourne need an Armstrong type player as much as the bumbers…..
