2024 Draft Thread

So in ten years he built a triple premiership team with minimal help from Clarke, if that's only average I have no idea who or what is considered good these days. Wells has a far worse record in the first round, that trend still evident with his recent call of Clark over Phillipou.
In addition won a VFL flag and r/up in another , that’s some list

Just on Francis Jackson from all accounts Chris Toce did most of the work on the draft before he passed away, Francis is coming in to help at the tail end of the process.
The good of this sad situation is that fj still keeps up his junior knowledge, our homework on this draft is the best ever done by Richmond fc,as told to me by a ex afl premiership player.

He doesn't have the stop and turn on a dime ability that the Dusty Dog had. Dusty Dog could turn opponents inside out with that. Might be a better mark however....
We got to remember his absolute amateur preparation and lack of fitness, his improvement is going to be incredible.

I think we need to tread with some caution, three of our best players have just walked, putting all the eggs in the Cadman basket is risky. We also need 2 forwards and perhaps some depth.
Agree ,as Cadman, reid would cost 5 first rounders, imagine if both came,I'm not sure I want to pay 5 first rounders.
The only change of mind for me would be if several of our 2024 first rounders turn into serious players and a couple of 2021 first rounders come along.

I have almost no interest in getting pick 2,even giving 11 ,23 shakes me,as it's
Fos at 2 for hotton at 11,Dattoli,Whitlock, faul at 23.
I love Fos but Hotton alone is line ball.
Theres some Hott On for Hotton as the draft closes in, hes gaining support.

Prospective top 6-8 pick prior to injury wasnt he?

St Kilda has told clubs it is open to splitting one of its top-10 selections in this year’s draft as part of a strategy to capitalise on the depth in this year’s talent pool.
The Saints have picks seven and eight in this year’s draft and have indicated they could be interested in trading one of them for two picks later in the first round.
The two clubs best-placed to do a deal with the Saints are Richmond (which has 18, 20 and 23) and GWS Giants (15, 16 and 21).

Doubt it was so much laziness in Peetracca's early days. Most of the youngsters take a year or 3 to firstly fully understand the requirements of professional athlete fitness and the dietry regimens that coincide. Also takes that few years for the body to physically mature to the requirements as well. Didn't Peetracca also break a big toe or something in one of his early summers messing around n playing some social or suburban soccer comp in his spare time?
Petracca was endurance and fitness,as his breakout year was the shortened covid seasons

One other small thing I noticed with Jagpipes in that interview, is his face is starting to fill out a bit i.e. he's beginning to put a bit of weight on.

He referenced that need and said "when I build up" or something to that effect. Good.
Maybe Lalor has been feeding him donuts?
