2024 Draft Thread

Strong word is Blues traded up for one of Lalor or FOS. God I hope we get pick two now and take them both.

Is it possible that Langford's agility will compensate for the leg speed? The sidestep is actually ok, I noticed a few times his agility bought some time and he also can kick off one step - that's a handy weapon to have if you don't have explosiveness.
I suspect langers is very much like joshcaddys skill set ,he was a mid in juniors , at afl his best footy was HF . Langers is an elite mark and kick if he can’t cut it at midfield he still has a future ,,,in any case who’s to say he can’t emulate clarry or cripps

10 & 18 Leysy

Fair enough. Rather keep the picks personally.

Why do you link Reid/Langford/Smillie/Armstrong to Taylor, turk-d? Is there mail around?

Taylor is the only threat to Tauru in my current scenarios.) The minute he's ruled out RFC get the deal for 6+18 or 6+25 on the scenarios we've been kicking around.

Unless Jack..... We love The Viking at 6 ourselves!!!!!

Nah - we are never going to get both of them and the last thing we need is to get into a bidding war - there is enough elite players that we will end up with a special hand in any case.

The big difference here is agility, Langford has a sidestep unlike Caddy who preferred to stick to the train tracks. i'm reasonably confident that speed won't be an issue, I think if he was at RCD levels of fitness it would be an uphill battle but he's at Sidebottom levels for endurance.

Travaglia kicking at 82.5% efficiency at state level, that's a pass mark from my perspective. His VFL game was also safe and assured, super impressive for a junior and he looks like he's set for an AFL debut in 2025.

Out of sight, out of mind.
Can play, is powerful, can run.
His hands aren't as clean as some of the elite players but he is a real competitor and like you say can run and has power. Kicking is poor for a left footer. Pick 15 to 25 range in this draft

Wouldn't surprise. Brayshaw gone. Clarry with Clarry issues. Peetracca just got busted up bad this year. Viney hitting the downhill age dept. Their midfield ain't quite what it used to be n prob more likely to go backwards rather than forwards in future years. Might be in need of some premium shiny new toys in there sooner rather than later.
Also Pickett having yearly go homeitis

The Code reporting that the deal for 2 involves 6 & 11 for 2 and Norf F1…..

Not sure what I think about this…..
Another Early F1 could be handy but I’ve gone all in on some guys around 11.

Regards,
Stan

Need some thinking music on that.
6 and 11 in this draft be mighty potent, plenty of talent around this year. 2 and Future 1st which would safely be within the first 4 picks next year. We get the 1-2 punch for the best mids outside of Ashcroft this year backed up with the virtual certainty of 2 picks inside the first 4 next year.
Lucky for me it's not my job, coz I got no idea what would be better.
