France worthy opposition & will be tough but if the Matildas can maintain focus & discipline then they're a decent chance.

Japan now pressing hard but finding Sweden tough to crack in trying to peg back the present 0-2 deficit.

As I type, Japan have the chance to goal via a penalty, which hits the underside of the crossbar. & cleared..15 minutes left.
 
Exciting finish. Two crossbars, one which hit the keepers back but still didn't go in.

If Japan were a little calmer in front of goal they may have got the equaliser.
 
Sweden too physical for the most part

Spain all over the Dutch. Would have been very unjust for them not to win. Should have been about 4-1. But that’s football/soccer.

Sam Kerr starting on the bench according to the selected squads. Could be another ruse though.

I see the logic of starting with the same 11. They are playing well and have got the results. Bringing on Kerr, the wrolds best striker, off the bench is a luxury few teams have and will stress the french.

But if she's 100% fit, how does any team in the world consider playing their Captain, best player and talisman off the bench in a WC Quarter Final? Does make much sense.

If her calf has healed, I'd play from the start. If it's still a risk, then use her if needed, or we're home and hosed.
 
Matildas defending gives me the jitters. France look more fluent & getting most of the 2nd balls.
 
The French women flop around more than Danger.

I thought it’s the women’s World Cup? Some dubious species out there, especially the ‘lady’ that stopped the goal

Really like Mary Fowler but she was a bit disappointing that half. Really should have nailed the golden opportunity and should have also done better on the second one. Hope it fires her up for the second half.

What's noticeable is that the women players don't play up and over exaggerate every touch they get.

Probably fair to say women football players are tougher than the men.

Was gonna post the same. Better to watch than those Academy Award performers at times.
