Do the lions have the most selfish, self centred forward line in the competition?
Melbourne has that by a whisker for me. Fritsch and Pickett just awful in this regards.

Murphy can play. McCreery has speed. H-E can have moments. What if they win it again next year?Without a doubt, the worst premiership. A 3rd of the Pies side is damn average. I have always liked Oleg but he would struggle to be in most teams best 22. He's probably the best from this list of 9 and that's saying something. Anyway, the only player I'm happy for is Marcov.
The more I read over these names the more I scratch my head thinking how the heck did the pies win the premiership.
In our peak none of these players would be getting games.
Darcy Cameron, Will Hoskin-Elliott, Jack Ginnivan, Mason Cox, Beau McCreery, Oleg Markov, Billy Frampton, Nathan Murphy, Patrick Lipinski
Every year without fail when a team wins the flag, the f***wit AFL media talk it up as the next dynasty.
Footscray and Melbourne spring to mind as howling recent examples.
Never seen a bunch of people from a given profession so at ease with consistently making tools of themselves (politicians aside).
Yep, every single side that wins the flag is going to go back to back. You’d think that as only one team since 2015 has actually done it might get them to cool their jets a little in this.Every year without fail when a team wins the flag, the f***wit AFL media talk it up as the next dynasty.

I'm sure lots of punters said, and still say the same, about a number of tigers premiership heroes. But a number have 3 premiership medals!
Surprised at the denigration of the Pies premiership. They were the best side of the year, deserved their flag. Their coach is a breath of fresh air and they appear to have great camerarderie in theior group. You don't win a flag without it.
Agree, yet I don't recall the same media talking Richmond up after 2017. Was more like "what a fluke, how the hell did they win a flag, will be another 37 years before they win another with that list" ' LOLEvery year without fail when a team wins the flag, the f***wit AFL media talk it up as the next dynasty.

We need to get creative at the trade table as it can turn your fortunes around quickly.
This is the equivalent of Hartley's outstanding 2016, one off-season can make a huge difference.good recruiting from the pies to pick up McStay, Mitchell, Hill, Frampton, Markov. We need to get creative at the trade table as it can turn your fortunes around quickly.
The difference is, in 2017, we had one of the most dominant finals series of all time and won the prelim by 7 goals and the GF by 7 goals.Lots of pundits bemoaning the fact that Collingwood seem to have so many ordinary players and they can't believe they won a flag with them.
Now where have I heard that before?
This is the equivalent of Hartley's outstanding 2016, one off-season can make a huge difference.
Kosi yes, the others I'm lukewarm about, Harmes too old and Snelling a run of the mill small forward.Prestia, Caddy, and Nank, brilliant by Hartley. But our game plan changed also, our ethos changed, the connection between players all interconnected in helping us win the flag.
I can see us perhaps getting max 2-3 players in trade and free agency, Koschitzke, perhaps Harmes, theres been talk of Snelling etc
Agree Kosi young key marking foward..alongside Lynch he could be a weapon.Kosi yes, the others I'm lukewarm about, Harmes too old and Snelling a run of the mill small forward.
McCreery yes I've seen him have some decent games and relies on his speed but is too inconsistent, overall just an average player. Murphy granted can play.
We were young, and no one thought much about role players on top of our elite talent. We set the benchmark for pressure all over the ground. Forward handball game. Chaos footy etc, hence 3 premierships. Stil say the same? anyone saying that is either a hater or knows SFA about footy. Dynasty teams don't get branded for being average etc
Pies are the second oldest team behind the Cats. 10 players over 30. I called it on the dees and cats too and now I'll call it on the pies. They won't win it next year, they played their best footy in the first half of the year and stumbled across the line in the finals. To many average players, dees dominated them in QF 69 inside 50's to 37 but couldn't kick straight. GWS got dudded on some calls.
Fly and Leppa are great coaches who got the best out of that group but as I mentioned they don't have anything in their kit bag that screams out we are dominating the comp for the next 3-4 years.
The Pies are branded worst premiership side because of so many average players and winning 3 finals by a combined 12 points.
Look at this premiership forward/ruck line. You wouldn't want to be a backman playing on this lot
Gives me hope going into 2024 with Yze and Newy!!!
Frampton - terrible
Miocheck - serviceable
McCreery - average
Elliott - past his best
Hill - good pick-up
Ginnivan - average
Cox - average
Cameron - average
The weakest top 4, dees, and power out in straight sets, lions one win from 12+ attempts on the G and let's face it pies were there for the taking, lions played too safe. almost scared to lose type of football and still only lost by 4 points. But no matter what anyone says including me they won it and in their eyes that's all that counts.
Don't forget the QF by 51 points. The Pies were lucky to beat Melb in their QF.The difference is, in 2017, we had one of the most dominant finals series of all time and won the prelim by 7 goals and the GF by 7 goals.
It's hard not to think it's at least in part due to him never playing the game at the top level.Brisbane have been flaky AF ever since Fagan took over.
There’s something missing in his approach. Some steel missing from his teams.
Conversely, Collingwood just play with the desire and intensity of 1000 suns. For that alone they deserve the flag. No issue from me.
